Just cool Super Hero stories in general. Program their minds with great ideas that you deem worth your offspring being ingrained with. Stories of overcoming, enduring, hardwork, etc.
Beast Wars hit me hard as a kid when Optimus died, I literally cried. He comes back to life later though.
My mother was like that. I'd tell her bad things that happened to me and others and she'd get pissed. She just wants to be in her own world: wake up, go to work, come back, watch some tv, rinse repeat until death.
I tried telling her about the child trafficking stuff, adrenochrome, she just doesn't care. Otherwise she is a great Slave. I understand, some people have no way to cope with such gut-wrenching things in general.
