Don't know about other states but KY screwed it's teachers, they cannot draw social security no can they draw a deceased spouses. Governors used the pension fund for other things. I think it's squared away now but they can be at the mercy of their state government and the teacher's unions don't help the teachers, they help the entity of public schooling.
