According to the president of IOC Bach, if sport takes on the role of referee in every conflict, that is the end of international sport.
Which is why it must be politically neutral.
Before that, however, he did recommend international federations not to allow Russian athletes to participate in international competitions on the obvious political ground, namely, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
What a wise, sincere, and consistent person! This great friend of international sport has proved himself to be a real heir of Carl Diem, the head of the Berlin Olympics, 1936. Our athletes will never forget that.
P.S. What is he going to do to Israeli athletes, I wonder?
