I don't agree with a lot of shit gen z believes but they are decoupled from the "israel is magically delicious and must be protected at all costs'. they're tech saavy, so they get news from tik tok and IG more than from cbs/abc/nbc, so they aren't getting the 'official' line as much as gen x or older. On top of that, they have been brought up to be STRONGLY anti-bully, so seeing this shit in Gaza triggers them in a way that older normies don't experience.
