They reunited afterward, got married, and moved to Canada. Geddy was born in Canada. Geddy's mother, in interviews, admits that Auschwitz was a "labor camp". Why would the Germans systematically slaughter the people they were using for slave labor to build their weapons and supplies? Why would you kill your free help?? Auschwitz clearly had a cinema, a theater, a playground for children, and many other amenities. Why build such amenities in a concentration camp when the sole purpose of the camp was to systematically murder millions of Jews? Why allow them entertainment and recreation? The Germans were really conflicted about their genocide program, clearly. How on earth did they allow Geddy Lee's parents to survive, only to later procreate one of the greatest musicians/songwriters/bass players/singers in the history of rock music?
Don't forget that even with the updated placard at the entrance to Auschwitz, they haven't revised the total number down to 3.5 million yet. They still want that "6 million" number to reverberate, even though they first presented that number - 6 million Jews murdered - right at the end of World War ONE. When they couldn't figure out a way to make that stick, they shut up about it and saved it for WWII.
