Report: Joe Biden to Escape Charges for Mishandling Classified Docs

Special Counsel Robert Hur, who is investigating President Joe Biden for mishandling documents, is not expected to charge anyone, sources familiar with the matter told CNN and the Wall Street Journal.

The report suggests a double standard of justice. While there will reportedly be no consequences for Biden, Special Counsel Jack Smith indicted former President Donald Trump in June for mishandling classified documents.

Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Hur in January to investigate Biden after classified documents from his time as vice president in Barack Obama’s administration were found in his possession at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, DC, and at his Wilmington, Delaware, home.

Hur was among those at the Justice Department who had knowledge about the Russia hoax perpetrated against former President Donald Trump.

Hur will reportedly issue a report on his investigation that could be made public by the end of the year.

Hur’s investigation encompassed 100 Biden aides, colleagues, and family members, including Hunter Biden. Hur also interviewed Joe Biden for two days in October, the Journal reported:

New York judge lifts the gag order that barred Trump from maligning court staff in fraud trial

NEW YORK (AP) — A gag order that barred Donald Trump from commenting about court personnel in his New York civil fraud trial after he maligned a key staffer was paused Thursday by an appellate judge who raised concerns that it violated the former president’s free speech rights.

Judge David Friedman, of the state’s intermediate appeals court, issued what’s known a stay — suspending the gag order and allowing Trump to freely comment about court staff while a longer appeals process plays out. Friedman’s ruling also applies to Trump’s lawyers and others involved in the case.

The trial judge, Arthur Engoron, imposed the gag order on Trump after the former president made a disparaging social media post about Engoron’s court clerk on trial’s second day, Oct. 2. Engoron later fined Trump $15,000 for violations and expanded the order to include his lawyers after they questioned the clerk’s prominent role in the courtroom.

Hialeah Mayor Bovo tells Trump he wants a street to be named after former president

Hialeah Mayor Esteban “Steve” Bovo announced during a rally held by former President Donald Trump his intention to name an avenue after the Republican presidential candidate in the largely Hispanic city. Trump held a rally at the Ted Hendricks Stadium while other candidates vying for the Republican nomination for president in 2024 participated in a debate at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami on Wednesday. “You always kept your promises to this great nation and next week I would be asking the council to be able to authorize a name street after you, Donald Trump Way,” said Bovo, holding a street sign next to Trump that said “President Donald J. Trump Avenue.” Trump said, “it was an honor, a great honor, I didn’t know that.” The next council meeting will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 14, with a resolution requesting that Palm Avenue be renamed for Trump. Currently Hialeah doesn’t have any street named after a president or former president, it would be the first. A library at West 49th St. is named after President John F. Kennedy. Hialeah is a heavily Republican city with a large Hispanic population.
