Mr. Biden [APEC]: Over the last three years, we've help mobilize more than half a trillion dollars in private sector investment, including to scale-up technologies like off-shore wind, advanced nuclear, clear hydrogen, direct air capture, and more. These investments not only put the Unites States on track to achieve our 1.5 degree aligned goal, by cutting emissions by fifty percent by 2030, they're creating jobs.

Mr. Biden: The impacts of climate change are being felt the most by those countries that contributed the least to the problem…that's why I'm working with our congress to dramatically increase international climate financing. This year the world is on track to meet the climate finance pledge that we made under the Paris Agreement of one hundred billion dollars collectively.

Mr. Biden: I've also asked congress for another twenty-five billion dollars to strengthen the role of the multi-lateral development banks in fighting the climate crisis, as well as starting with the World Bank. Because climate security, energy security, and food security; they're all related.

WEST VIRGINIA: "Senator Joe Manchin says he “absolutely” would consider a presidential run, just a week after he said he wouldn’t seek reelection to the Senate. The West Virginia Democrat stressed he’s “totally, absolutely scared to death” of another White House term for former President Trump, who is the Republican Party’s front-runner by a wide margin. But Manchin also said he’s worried President Biden “has been pushed too far to the left.”

The senator announced last week he won’t try for reelection to his Senate seat in 2024, a move that puts Democrats in trouble in red West Virginia and has stoked speculation that he could mount a White House bid. Trump took credit for the retirement, arguing Manchin forewent another run because the former president has endorsed West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice (R) to replace him.

Manchin has been floated as a possible 2024 presidential contender alongside No Labels, the group pushing for a third-party ticket."

WASHINGTON: "A federal jury Thursday in Washington decided Utah activist John Earle Sullivan didn't just document the U.S. Capitol riot, he was a participant. The jury convicted Sullivan of all seven counts, according to investigative reporter, Jordan Fischer. That includes three charges related to carrying a weapon, a knife, and counts accusing him of interrupting congress as it voted to certify the U.S. presidential election on January 6th, 2021. According to Fisher, the judge ordered that Sullivan be held in custody while he awaits sentencing. Weapons charges like what Sullivan was convicted of have sent other January 6 defendants for months or years. Sentencing is expected to be sometime in 2024."
