Miss Isabella's Home for Stray Kittens is my latest weekly serial. If you've read some of my other serial stories like Demon Hunters or Pepper's Penance, you might recall how it works (though this one is shorter at only nine chapters.) If you need a refresher, here it is:

Think of it like episodes of your favorite series on streaming.

This means…

You'll have to wait a week or so between episodes (chapters.)

Some chapters will have unresolved endings. You'll have to wait for the next chapter to find out what happens.

A few weeks after the final chapter, the story will disappear from this site. So if you're going to binge it, plan accordingly.

Chapter 3: Kitten Gets a Name

"Miss Isabella?" said Rosalind, standing at the open door of the drawing room with the girl on all fours at her feet.

"Yes, Rosalind?" Isabella did not look up from her desk.

"There's someone here to see you."

"A visitor? At the gate?"

"A kitten," said Rosalind. "In the hall."

Miss Isabella kept a slow and measured step all the way to the kitchen, looking back on occasion to check on Angelita's progress and waiting for her whenever she seemed to be struggling to keep up. And for her part, Angelita kept pace, trailing just behind and to the right, with her tail pushed proudly up behind her.

Turning the corner into the kitchen, Miss Isabella was greeted by Rosalind, now having changed into work clothes and sitting down at the butcher block table with a slab of cheese between two slices of bread on a plate in front of her. There was a bite out of the corner.

"Miss Isabella," said Rosalind, hopping to her feet while still chewing. "Can I make you a sandwich?"

Miss Isabella waved her off. "No thank you. Please sit. Enjoy your lunch. I'm here to find something for Angelita."

"Oh," said Rosalind.

Well, we gave Bud Light the fuck you, then Dana makes a sponsorship deal with them. He says that's 65,000 American jobs on the line as some what of an excuse. But then goes on to try and boycott Pelaton, which is also an American company, with 3,500 jobs on the line.

Anyways, I'm not really gunna defend Dana, already stuck up for that guy once even though he pays his fighters peanuts to lose their braincells while he spends his billions in casinos, enriching the mob instead.
