If there is one things cops fear the most it's going to prison. Corruption spreads fast, it's contagious in groups. That makes corruption even more dangerous, which many cops are today. If good cops become outnumbered in any given jurisdiction, it's more likely a good cop will end up in prison than the bad ones. So the good ones tend to keep their mouths shut, because they don't want the dangerous bad ones coming after them.

Glad I raise chickens myself and have fresh eggs. Nice to know. BTW, once you try farm fresh eggs you won't care for going back to buying eggs at the grocery store anymore. Farm fresh eggs are much more rich in flavor, the fresh yolk is a deep thick orange color as opposed to liquid yellow you get in stores. Raising chickens is pretty easy, you get used to it fast, but there are a lot of predators that like killing and eating them too, so you have to make sure they are protected in and outside their coop. If other animals notice them, they start getting killed off.

Just a tip, make sure the whole coop is caged up within, no way for raccoons or snakes to slip in when they are locked up for the night. You might have to cage over the top rafters of the coop too, animals will try any way to break in to get the chickens if they know they are in there. If the chickens start getting killed by coyotes or chicken hawks outside, you may want a separate caged outdoor area they can roam outside the chicken coop. The only downside of having chickens is the work you need to put in protecting them.
