5 Ways To Stimulate Your Vagus Nerve

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, right?

But when it comes to your vagus nerve (pronounced like the city of Las Vegas), it carries signals to your brain, heart, lungs and digestive system. Itโ€™s the longest cranial nerve in your body, running from your brain all the way to your large intestine.

Your vagus nerve plays a part in controlling involuntary sensory and motor functions like your heart rate, speech, mood and urine output. It helps your body switch back and forth between your flight-or-fight response and your parasympathetic mode, where youโ€™re more relaxed.

there's another method you can do that isn't mentioned here or anywhere online. it's a simple jaw stretch. all you have to do to alleviate PTSD/Trauma is stretch the vagus nerve located around your jaw and ear canal. between stretching your jaw outward and swelling your tongue at the back of your throat you should be able to make your ears crackle. This is a sign that you are stimulating your vagus nerve in that region. keep stimulating it and you should yawn.
