Not sure if this will help but this is my best guess at what launched the car (picrel).
I've included a link to the google maps street view so you can look behind at the long strip that he would have gained the speed. (Zoom in forward to see barrier that launched the car.)
Watching the video it looks like the front tires were turned to the right indicating that he was trying to make the turn. It's a pretty sudden turn that would come out of nowhere at high speed if you were not familiar with it.
