What if the problem was the kibbutzes (kibbutzim) that got attacked? Was there anything nefarious going on there that would have outraged Hamas, and for which the Israelis would be happy to dispose of?

All I have ever heard is "victims", simple people, intentional communities, kind of more civilized hippies. I don't know much about them, but there's never been any question of them…and to me, that's sus.
