Today's AI is still using same concepts but on much larger supercomputers… the weights are incredibly hard to understand - the AI engineers don't really have a fucking clue about them…
We may also be over estimating it. It's as intelligent as the average of internet tweets, youtube data etc… there is so much shit out there.
They have only imitated the CRUDEST part of a neuron - there are many other chemical signals that they don't even understand. They are using a sledge hammer approach to compensate with massive compute, but it's still pretty dead inside.
