I've programmed AI back in 95 - it's quite simple maths based on dot product.

 

It's the weight data that decides how to respond to inputs…

 

Today's AI is still using same concepts but on much larger supercomputers… the weights are incredibly hard to understand - the AI engineers don't really have a fucking clue about them…

They have only imitated the CRUDEST part of a neuron - there are many other chemical signals that they don't even understand. They are using a sledge hammer approach to compensate with massive compute, but it's still pretty dead inside.
