What they do in NY last time I voted was they ask for your id then send you to a special desk to get a slightly smaller ballot which the person at the desk directs you to the specific voting machine to use. After I voted I waited to see some type of acknowledgment that my vote went through when a poll watcher said your good and tried to rush out as if there were other people waiting, but there weren't any. After about 50 seconds of standing my ground the machine spit back out the ballot. Knowingly.
