Yea… never going to trust a computer that way.
They found out when they were pushing the whole intellectual property shit that the general population doesn't buy it AT ALL, so now they think they just need to be clever enough to trick people into believing in their bullshit. The missing ingredient is that everyone they've surrounded themselves with who agrees with them that ideas are real, actual, entities of their own is only doing so because they think they can profit from supporting their delusions.
I think it would probably turn out to be a LOT more than just a metaphor if you actually dug into it.
