Poll: Trump Continues to Lead Biden

The former president maintains his lead over Biden in the new Messenger/Harris poll

ormer President Donald Trump continues to lead President Joe Biden in the latest Messenger/Harris poll conducted by HarrisX.

The poll, conducted online November 22-28 among 4,003 registered voters, found Trump led Biden, 46%-42%. Thirteen percent were undecided. The margin of error was plus or minus 1.6 percentage points.

Biden and Trump’s support mostly breaks down along partisan lines. Independents, however, tilt towards Trump, 40%-34%, while 25% were undecided.

In a four-way race with independent candidates Robert F. Kennedy and Dr. Cornel West on the ballot, Trump earned 41%, Biden 33%, Kennedy 13%, and West 2%.

Biden’s approval ratings remain low. Thirty-eight percent of registered voters approved of his job performance while 57% disapproved.

While most data points to a Biden vs. Trump rematch, America isn’t so keen on the idea. Most voters don’t want Biden (67%) or Trump (55%) to seek another four-year term. Forty percent of Democrats say they don’t want Biden to seek another term while 22% of Republicans say they don’t want Trump to run again either.

In the national Republican primary, Trump extended his dominant lead over his primary rivals. Trump led the field with 68% support, followed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at 9% and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley at 7% Venture capitalist Vivek Ramaswamy was at 4%. All other candidates were at 1% or less.

AP: “Are you aware of any time Deutsche Bank didn’t adhere to its own guidelines in making loans to President Trump?” defense attorney Jesus M. Suarez asked. “No,” Williams replied.

Bloomberg: Under questioning by Suarez, Williams said the bank always reviews a prospective client’s stated net worth and adjusts it as needed. “As part of our due diligence, we subject a client’s asset value to adjustments,” Williams said. “It’s part of our underwriting process we apply it to every client regardless of what’s reported.” “Is a difference of opinion in asset values between the client and the bank a disqualifying factor to extend credit?” Suarez asked Williams. “No,” he replied. “Why not?” “It’s just a difference of opinion,” Williams testified.

Bloomberg: “Is the bank capable of reaching its own judgment based on the evaluation it makes of the guarantor’s financial condition?” Trump attorney Jesus Suarez asked Williams, a managing director at the German bank. “Certainly, yes,” Williams said.

Elon Musk on Power, Influence and the “Wild Storm” in His Mind

The tech billionaire Elon Musk has come to define innovation, but he can also be a lightning rod for controversy; he recently endorsed antisemitic remarks on X, formerly known as Twitter, which prompted companies to pull their advertising. In his interview, Musk discusses his emotional state and why he has “no problem being hated.”

This interview was with Andrew Ross Sorkin of The New York Times at the annual DealBook Summit and recorded live in front of an audience at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Don’t Blame Trump For What Happened on Election Day

Todd Starnes

A few thoughts about last night’s elections:

  1. Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear is a very popular incumbent governor. The Democrat also comes from a political dynasty within the Commonwealth. The gubernatorial race was always going to be an uphill climb for Republican Attorney General Daniel Cameron. So, don’t listen when the DeSantis crowd tries to blame this loss on Trump. It’s not true. Meanwhile, every other Republican on the ticket CRUSHED their opposition.

  1. Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves has faced stiff opposition from within his own party. Lots of issues internally. But he had Trump’s endorsement and won. Meanwhile, every other Republican on the ticket CRUSHED their opposition in landslide victories. President Trump campaigned heavily for Reeves, but don’t expect the DeSantis team to give him any credit.

  1. The Virginia races? That’s a question for Gov. Glenn Youngkin (the political darling of the GOP and the Never Trump movement.) The Republicans were expected to maintain control of the State Senate and retake the House of Delegates. Republican party leaders thought a Youngkin victory would propel him to enter the 2024 presidential race and challenge Trump. Those plans have been thrown out the window. But the issue may have been Youngkin’s tough pro-life position. Democrats used the messaging to get out the vote. Again, it’s about the messaging, folks — how you frame the debate.

  1. Since Roe v. Wade was overturned, the abortion issue has been on the ballot eight times and it has resulted in eight losses for pro-lifers. There’s no way to spin what happened in Ohio. Pro-lifers suffered a devastating loss and many unborn babies will lose their lives. Republicans need a better strategy and a better marketing plan. But that was nearly impossible to do because they were outspent by nearly $10 million. No money + bad messaging = disaster.

  1. But there could have been another reason for the Ohio debacle. Many Millennial and Gen Z pastors have disengaged their churches from the culture war battles. They have taken great strides to make sure their pulpits don’t offend. The influence of the church has been neutralized. That’s why an overwhelming majority of Ohioans just enshrined birth date abortions in their state constitution. Silence in the face of evil is evil itself.

  1. Democrats are crushing Republicans in fundraising and getting out the vote. Republicans were outspent on nearly every race. Ronna McDaniel, the RNC chair, needs to be held accountable. It’s unacceptable.

  1. It’s sickening to see some in the DeSantis orbit celebrating Republican losses last night. But there’s a good many people in the party who are so consumed with Trump Derangement Syndrome that they are literally wishing for the demise of their own political party.

  1. Unless the GOP unites and stops trying to destroy MAGA conservatives, there will be a bloodbath in 2024.

  1. Believe it or not, some elections are just decided on local or state issues — not Donald Trump.
