John Kirby [White House press conference]: Supplemental funding is important…we need that funding…We think we got till about the end of the year before it gets really, really hard, to continue to support Ukraine.
Reporter at White House press conference mentioning that Kissinger was consulted by Jake Sullivan, Tony Blinken, and others in the Biden administration.
Jean-Pierre just abruptly ended the briefing and stormed off, after repeatedly refusing to answer a question by reporter that sounded like Simon Ateba.
Chairman Cline [Oversight Hearing]: In her interactions with the committee, Chair Khan [FTC] has taken it upon herself to question the legitimacy of, and seek to block, congressional oversight.
Gene Hamilton [Border Crisis Hearing]: There have been roughly 7.86 million nationwide encounters since February of 2021. Most significantly, that number includes the Biden administration's abuse of the parole power, through programs like the CHNV, which brings in an additional thirty thousand aliens into the United States every single month. The abuse of the parole power is essentially a shell game, which allows the administration to claim that it is reducing the number of illegal crossings at the border, when in actuality, their policies are making it worse….deportations are statistically non-existent…ICE is not deporting anyone.
Chairman Cline [Oversight Hearing]: So tell me, why are employees at Twitter and Facebook, many of whom do not have a clearance of any kind, able to receive these communications unredacted, but members of congress are not?
Dunham [FBI representative]: We're bound by Department of Justice's executive branch policies that dictate how we provide information to congress, and there are certain areas where we have to be more considerate and provide redactions.
Chad Wolf [Border Crisis Hearing]: During the Biden administration, there have been about five hundred thousand unaccompanied alien children that have come across that border…almost all of them are trafficked. They stay in Border Patrol, DHS custody, for a very short period of time, usually hours; seventy-two hours or below. Then they are transferred to HHS and ORR, where they are then processed and placed with sponsors. Unfortunately, what we have seen from this administration is a loosening of the sponsor requirements…they stopped the full vetting and background checking procedures of sponsors, and all household members…they also did away with fingerprints. They did away with rapid DNA testing at the border. We use that to establish that familial relationship. If it did not occur, we were going to separate and we were going to rescue that child. Rapid DNA testing is no longer occurring along the border, and I have no idea why, There is no valid reason to stop that. It goes to the hear at making sure those children are safe.
Castro: Mr. Wolf, do you, or your organizations, support the use of military force in Mexico, even without the consent pf the Mexican government, as many leading republican officials have called for?
Chad Wolf: All options should be considered when we look a the threat of cartels, and the violence against Americans….this idea of taking options off the table for a variety of different policy issues that we have addressed, makes no sense.
Bumpus [Oversight Hearing] confirms that the FTC has deleted emails of former employees.
Ivey [Oversight Hearing]: Seems like the Trump family would be a lot closer to the Sopranos than the Biden family.
