Those rings are like Soulstones. Gemstones can hold vibrations / frequencies. Probably it collects all of the souls they sacrificed, or holds the Demons that speaks through / empowers them.
Earth seems to be indifferent. Do you concern yourself with what species of ants dominates certain territories? Earth made the Ruby, but it can be used for negative or positive intentions. Every Gemstone has unique properties. I got into collecting and learning about them a while back. Rubies were known as the Gem of Kings because of how rare they were. But with modern Mining Technologies, it's much cheaper and easier to acquire one.
You'd be surprised what Gemstones are already being used for… Quartz are used in processors (for timing), Sapphire is used in watches, Rubies are used to make Lasers, Diamonds for cutting, etc, etc.
The Pyramids could have easily been built by humans. Each stone weighed on average 2,500 pounds; roughly the weight of a sedan. Current world record for a deadlight is over 1,000 pounds. With a massive supply of slaves, levies, and ramps, how is that not feasible?
