That's been the enduring theme of all of this shit, that the people running the show apparently got it in their heads that they could replace our society with literally anyone else, so they didn't have to deal with the very real problems that we're facing from the fallout of grossly mismanaged modern technology.
Yea, and it never actually works out well for them.
