browsers are garbage and also a moving target.

write something today, and it will break tomorrow.

update update update update

fuck that

for example some new so called security feature of browsers is literally breaking OCI

be on intranet

send OCI request out to internet URL

browser lets you shop on there

checkout

OCI goes back to intranet, to transmit the data

oopsie, cookies are not transmitted anymore, because this totally could be a hack attempt, session not found

can't switch that shit off

and they didn't even tell anyone about this feature. it was just added and shit broke.

also fuck Google

oh and this shit of course violates internet standards, but no one cares.

Chrome does it

Firefox does it, as far as I can remember

and the Microsoft browser started with it too

No notification, nothing

Not even an option to switch it off, at least for some URLs, nope, because we the browser developers know best (how to break shit)

Only way to keep it working is using the old Microsoft Internet Explorer

>the limits work to protect the user from malicious software

it's not a shitty web developers job to violate internet standards to protect people from theoretical attacks, while breaking shit, because they don't have a clue wtf they are doing

>cross-compatible

lol no, everything actually becomes Chrome aka Google garbage

Keep on installing new Windows, because Google demands it

>can be bypassed

the only way is either DNS fuckery or some other bullshit, which I'm against.

Or add a login and keep the data in memory, which is even more ridiculous and backwards

THEY violate the standard. It's their fucking fault. At least make it an option.

>not the real world

In the business world, that I earn my living from, there are no fucking hacks, especially not shit like this.

It doesn't fly.

And software in proper environments work basically forever, how it should be.

You don't need to update and change shit, because it doesn't get broken in the first place, because no incompetent wanna-be developers fucking it up.

>user first

user wants shit to work.

With browsers it's always the same shit.

You know, we got a few of these so called shitty web applications.

Some want Chrome. Some want Microsoft Edge. Some want Internet Explorer.

It's a 100% shit show.

>work around

using their CPUs (with microcode) and GPUs, their internet and their firmware?

Yeah, you totally show them, boy.

The only way forward is to reject their garbage including their internet, and especially any pseudo-money like shitcoin too.

Otherwise you are doing exactly what they want.

They want everything on their internet.

It's not your internet, it's theirs.

They can enforce digital id any minute, and then you are fucked the more you depend on it.

>Kek.

It's actually true.

You know what breaks on release upgrades?

External consultant shit, that retarded consultants created.

Our shit doesn't break, because we don't do hacks, simple as that.

Software that I wrote over 10 years ago still works without a single change.

No, you dont get that either with Linux or better Shitix nor Windows.

>depressed

I'm not depressed, I'm simply not idiotic pushing everything onto the internet, because I understand that the internet is their surveillance network and doing so is fucking retarded.

>pinhead manager

lmao

Now let's pretend that the concentration camps were holiday camps, like so many "anons" in here do.

Why would the Nazis release 2 Rothschilds and thus make them skip these fine holiday camps with refreshing swimming pools and so on?

Why not just shoot them like the Einsatzgruppen did either?

Oh rightโ€ฆ

They were controlled opposition, doing what the master tells them, and thus you don't kill the pawns.

>The browser does not equate to the internet

It's shit technology.

It's all shit technology.

And they have to change shit all the time, and add new shit and break shit.

If I want decent performance, I write native code. Simple as that.

>but you can certainly run it without an internet connection.

Oh wow, thank you Sherlock

But how do you get it in the first place?

And the latest doesn't want to support X anymore. What do you do now? Throw it all away?

Take a look at Steam. It has Google Chrome shit embedded. Idiotic decision, but that's the reason why they now have to block Windows 7.

Is that a great idea, or not?

Selling games.

Games don't work on $new_Windows

Block $old_Windows

What a great concept.

Now imagine everything was fucking web-apps.

"sorry, this web app requires X"

"sorry, this web app isn't support anymore"

I like it when software continues to run.

You don't get that with web "technology" garbage.

>strawman

lmao

hack = working around shitty software that violates standards intentionally

you know I got software that follows web standards, but it doesn't work in modern browsers for modern audiences, like yourself.

that's the fault of the modern browsers, not the fault of the software.

sure, you can run the internal web server externally, that would work for now. But this also means that when internet goes down, so does your intranet service, which is very important for the line of business you are in (up time is supposed to be 99.99999999%), which makes doing so a really really stupid idea

See, it's running fine, then something breaks shit, and now I am supposed to do things that don't make sense just to make it sort of work again which always includes drawbacks.

And of course it's garbage web browsers, and you are not even told what the fuck they added. And they have no clue about OCI, which is also a standard for transmitting catalog data from an ordering system to another system including ERP or another ordering system. And these hacks break it all, because muh must violate web standard to protect users by not transmitting cookies in certain situations, because that will totally help.

I'm sure if I would write a bug report, they would say "what's OCI???"

Even that's the fucking job of for example the router software, not the job of a fucking web browser to castrate itself.

It's like enforcing HTTPS everywhere. Great idea, what are all these web interfaces on the intranet? Doesn't matter, we need HTTPS everywhere now. So you can't access these web sites anymore, who cares.

(and HTTPS by itself is full on garbage anyway, trust 100+ authorities, but you see it got a lock, that means it's secure and safe, like the covid vaccine)

just find a way

oopsie, new version of web browser now also blocks that

just find another way

fuck that

>Everybody breaks their own shit

Speak for yourself.

I don't.

>I've had to update my own code several times because shit got changed in Node

See, that's SHIT tech.

It's garbage.

Full on.

>I fix it

update update update

You are part of what's wrong with software nowadays.

>You work with the lowest common denominator.

I don't write all software.

>deprecated

lmao

another web technology invention

>hey, this software here was written 3 years ago

>no, not supported anymore, just update the software, it won't work anymore otherwise

what the fuck is wrong with software developers

> I don't use third-party code except where it is absolutely necessary.

If it wasn't written by pajeets, it wouldn't be a problem.

Take your Node shit for example.

Why the fuck are there changes made that make it incompatible?

And why are you okay with it?

I'm writing software for a long time. I use standard functions, which are meant to be used and they don't break, ever.

>negativity

lmao
