well that sounds like a democracy and that is not what America is. So it is a stupid idea. Granted I understand why the suggestion has some validity because the sheer population expansion and with them voting per their own agendas and not the state it becomes a problem. I can not remember off hand which amendment it is that took away the powers of the states to vote for the congressional members and made that a vote for the people. Used to be that the people voted for their state members and those members voted for the federal representatives.
we had rules in place the problem is again fraud has made every law every rule fall into question, as well as all these amendments. I don't think everyone should be allowed to vote unless they have some contribution to the nation and not just by paying taxes which again would be unconstitutional. All of these ideas need to be examined and figured out what was a good legit idea or which one just passes the buck or causes more problems down the line.

There are problems now with imbalances, and some between the states, and that needs a re-calibration also. So when all the power has been relegated to those in washington what does it matter if you know who runs your state, odds are they are just as corrupt. The engine of the country needs an overhaul.
in its conception america had one of the best ideas about how things could be run. However it is far from that now. It is not perfect but systems are not designed to be perfect. I think if technology and people came to better understandings globally and maybe could talk to one another again. New systems could be devised, but even then I think the base of it would always have to be what America created perhaps more restrictions are needed to create more freedom as well. Term limits would be a great start to that.
