Mainstream Linux is already kind of comped anyhow. In fact, installing anything offered posted on this site is particularly risky.
SystemD based linux distributions provide a very large attack surface to hit several systems with a single vulnerability. It is reasonable to conjecture that its existence was influenced by an intelligence agency (probably german BND) to provide a place to more easily gain access to linux platforms, even when they were secured.
It is a little more suspicious that they dispute security CVE reports.
