It would have to be employees embedded within the company. Etsy is a tech company in the end, their algorithm would have easily been able to pick up suspicious behavior. Therefore it was allowed to happen, a controlled environment / division embedded within the company. Don't let these people play willfully ignorant, they know exactly what they're doing.
