It was before my time I think, but I've heard it explained that shortly after Q began, C_A or some such deep staters pushed their own "Qanon" thing to muddy things up, but I really have no idea. Don't quote anon on it.
It's imageboard culture to tag "anon" after a nickname if one emerges in a thread, but Q never adopted it in their signature. And Q has posted something clarifying that there is no Qanon, just Q. Media labels it "Qanon" to attack a fake target. It's difficult to explain.
