How come so many readily agree to the statement: "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result"

The statement is easily proven to be false.

I just kept clicking the 'update' button, nothing happened. I kept doing it because I know at some point someone will have posted something and therfore something will happen. Last time i clicked something happened, proving my expectation of something different happening.

Is that the definition of insanity?
