Someone here with some interests or knowledge of archaeology or archaeological findings/artifacts?

I've found something yesterday in my wood stove; it's a small stone (around 7x7cm) and it has the perfect shape of a donkey.

There were some pieces wood that came from some oaks in my wood stove, they were burned and the little donkey-stone appeared in my wood stove (despite off the heat in a perfect state)

Normally when i see this such a tiny and flat stone with an obvious strucure that represents something (small roundings/forms) in this case it represents a donkey i wouldn't think it's still remained this intact…

The stone looks kind of old.

There is a centric hole in the middle of the stone/donkey, and as it was apparently hidden in a cutted piece of an oak, i suppose the donkey-stone was nailed to some tree/oak someday in history….

Yeah i thought about that as well because it was, in all probability, attached to a tree once.

What makes it odd is that in the region where i live and thus found this stone-donkey, (eastern Netherlands) donkeys and representatives of donkeys are quite uncommon, especially back in the days.

However i don't know exactly where the oak has been cut i presume it's just local cutted wood.

I think that is kind of miraculous due to it's small size, flatness and round forms (little head, small legs)

It must have been in a piece of wood. (oak) the oak burned to ash and the stone-donkey survived the flames. The material looks a bit like the stones that are on the side-parts inside the stove.

I think it's stone (it looks like stone and when i look in on the sides or when i look in the centric hole it's also looking for me as stone)

I'm Dutch and the artifact has been found here however donkeys and artifacts that refere to them are uncommon in The Netherlands…

It's quite spectacular that it has been inside an oak, get cutted down, find itself in my wood stove and remained in a perfect state in the stove between all the ash.
