2007 FBI Investigation Resurfaces – A Biden Is Clearly Heard on the Tapes

Out of all the topics the Joe Biden White House didn’t want to see in Sunday’s Washington Post, this had to be up there on the list.

The capital city’s newspaper of record published recordings Sunday of President Joe Biden’s brother, James, engaged in scoring off his famous last name during the late 1990s.

The fact that the recordings were made by FBI investigators couldn’t have made things easier in the Biden household either.

The Post article was headlined “James Biden’s dealmaking caught on FBI tapes in unrelated bribery probe,” and just the words alone had to be unsettling at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

According to the Post, the tapes came to light after the Post received permission to review archives at the University of Mississippi compiled by author Curtis Wilkie, who wrote a book about attorney Richard “Dickie” Scruggs, a larger-than-life figure in the law world who engineered the landmark $248 billion 1998 legal settlement with the tobacco industry over its sales of a cancer-causing product.

Scruggs’ career didn’t end with the tobacco settlement — that took until 2007, when he was snared in an FBI sting operation trying to bribe a Mississippi judge.

And it was in that snare that James Biden’s voice recordings appear — not involved in bribery himself, but clearly as a figure whose last name meant a good deal to those trying to curry favor in Washington.

Scruggs, according to the Post, got to know the Bidens while he was trying to get a tobacco settlement through Congress. He needed Joe Biden’s support for that. And for that, he turned to James Biden.

“I probably wouldn’t have hired him if he wasn’t the senator’s brother,” Scruggs told the Post, echoing similar words that would later be spoken about Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.

“Jim was never untoward about his influence,” Scruggs said, according to the Post. “He didn’t brag about it or talk about it. He didn’t have to. He was the man’s brother.”

To be clear, the conversations where James Biden was recorded by the FBI were taken down as part of an investigation of Scruggs and his associates — not James Biden.

But they did capture a flavor of James Biden’s influence peddling — and that was just when his brother was a senator, not the vice president.

According to the report, the model, whose identity was concealed in the photograph, met Epstein prior to the snapshot being taken and was rapidly entangled in a series of promises concerning career advancement through Epstein’s powerful connections. This modus operandi aligns with other accounts of Epstein’s grooming strategies, where photographs with influential figures were used to lend credibility to his claims and further ensnare his victims.

During her approximately eight-month association with Epstein, the model encountered a world of manipulation and deceit. She was taken to academic conferences, Epstein’s private island, and photographed with prominent figures like Allen and former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, both of whom have denied knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities.

However, beneath this veneer of opportunity, Epstein’s true intentions emerged. He subjected the model to sexual exploitation, pressured her to alter her lifestyle, and eventually suggested she become a mistress for one of his friends, a proposal she recognized as a trap. Her attempts to sever ties were met with intimidation and threats to her career.

This story is not isolated. Epstein’s private calendars, managed by his executive assistant Lesley Groff, reveal hundreds of appointments with young women, often referred to only by first names and phone numbers. These meetings were sandwiched between Epstein’s engagements with business and political elites.

The Polish model’s entry into Epstein’s orbit began with an introduction to Ramsey Elkholy, who presented himself as a modeling scout with connections to Harvard University. Unbeknownst to her, Elkholy was funneling attractive women to Epstein. Elkholy, in a recent interview, claimed ignorance of the full extent of Epstein’s predatory behavior, a stance echoed by his lawyer, Bruce Rosen.

German ‘heavy brigade’ to deploy close to Russia’s border

Defense ministers from Berlin and Vilnius have signed a major military deployment plan

Germany and Lithuania on Monday signed a roadmap for what is set to become the largest deployment of German troops on foreign soil in the modern era. Under the plan, the 5,000-strong brigade will be stationed less than 20km (12 miles) from the border with Belarus, Moscow’s key ally.

Lithuania also shares a border with Russia’s westernmost exclave, Kaliningrad.

The agreement was sealed during German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius’ visit to the Baltic nation, where he met with his Lithuanian counterpart, Arvydas Anusauskas. Berlin already leads a multinational NATO advance force stationed in the country and decided to boost its military presence last year.

Pistorius described the future deployment as a way for his nation to “assume leadership responsibility” within the US-led military bloc. Anusauskas pledged to ensure “the best possible conditions for German soldiers and their family members,” which Lithuania will be responsible for.

Germany plans to keep 4,800 troops and 200 civilian specialists in the country on a permanent basis, complete with heavy armaments and support structure. The relocation will start in the second quarter of 2024, with the brigade scheduled to reach full combat readiness by 2027, according to the German Defense Ministry.

Lithuania said most of the foreign troops will be stationed at the Rudninkai training ground in the southeast of the country, close to Belarus. The rest will be hosted by a military facility near the village of Rukla. Vilnius and Kaunas, the cities closest to the base, is where many of the family members of the Germans will be living, the country’s military said.

Lithuania has been developing military infrastructure near Rukla for years. The Enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroup Lithuania, as the NATO force deployed there is called, has been stationed there since 2017 in what the organization claimed to be a “consequence” of Crimea rejoining Russia after a referendum.

Moscow perceives the movement of NATO capabilities to the east of Europe as provocation and a threat to its national security.

The future German unit is called the heavy 42nd Armored Brigade by the Bundeswehr and will include three combat battalions. Two of them are German-only, and include an armored battalion and a heavy infantry battalion. The third one will be a multinational unit based on the currently deployed force.

Louisiana Woman, Her Three Husbands, and Uncle Arrested for Heinous Crimes Linked to ‘Witchcraft, Satanism, and Vikingism

In a chilling discovery, a Louisiana woman, together with her three husbands and an uncle, have been arrested following distressing allegations of holding a victim captive as part of a polyamorous relationship that quickly descended into abuse and ritualistic violence.

Hannah Frisby, 29, is the alleged ringleader of this disturbing cult that combined elements of witchcraft, Satanism, and Vikingism—a form of Norse deity worship. Arrested alongside her are Caleb Frisby, 28; Justin Cowart, 26; James Owens; and Frisby’s uncle, Tommy Allen, 54.

The group was apprehended after a report to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office in September by the victim’s sister.

The victim recounted how she was coerced into renouncing her Christian faith to participate in the group’s arduous rituals.

An arrest affidavit indicates the victim was subjected to inhuman treatments such as being forced to bathe in scalding water while scrubbing with stiff bristled brushes covered in bleach to cleanse ‘evil spirits,’ amongst other things.

In a particularly harrowing episode, it is alleged that a puppy was presented as a “sacrifice to the Gods” in a gruesome intimidation act.

The victim was allegedly abused and sexually assaulted by Hannah if she did not have sex with the “husbands.” Authorities learned that the victim suffers from autism and ADHD, which makes it easy for the victim to become confused. The victim was also allegedly abused by Hannah’s uncle, Tommy Allen.

On September 21, 2023, the victim invited her sister to the residence to visit. Once the sister arrived at the residence, she entered the home and the victim asked her sister, “How is Freddy?” Officials learned that the question is a safety code in the victim’s family if they are in trouble.

Pentagon to tear down Reconciliation Monument in Arlington National Cemetery by week's end despite protest

The Department of Defense has dutifully taken part in an iconoclastic sweep of American history that has left graves dug up, statues toppled, animals renamed, busts melted down, and church windows removed.

Despite significant backlash, it appears no exception will ultimately be made for the Reconciliation Monument in Arlington National Cemetery. Workers will remove the 109-year-old monument this week, providing revisionists in the nation's capital with a gift of absence just in time for Christmas.

What's the background?

The Reconciliation Monument, also called the Confederate Memorial, was approved in 1906 by Secretary of War William Taft; commissioned by the United Daughters of the Confederacy in 1910; designed by Jewish former Confederate soldier Moses Jacob Ezekiel; and unveiled in Section 16 of the cemetery by President Woodrow Wilson on June 4, 1914.

The monument consists of a bronze female figure crowned with olive leaves atop a 32-foot pedestal. The female figure holds a laurel wreath, a pruning hook, and a plow. At her feet is a biblical inscription that reads, "They have beat their swords into plough-shares and their spears into pruning hooks."

Another inscription on the memorial states in Latin, "The victorious cause was pleasing to the gods, but the lost cause to Cato."

Thirty-two figures of mythical gods, Southern soldiers, and civilians are depicted around the base, including two black characters — one holding a baby and the other a slave following his owner to war. The memorial also displays 14 shields representing the 11 Confederate states and the border states of Maryland, Kentucky, and Missouri.

The memorial was intended as a monument to reconciliation in the aftermath of the Civil War.

Union army veteran President William McKinley, who supported legislation in 1900 to establish a Confederate section in Arlington Cemetery, proclaimed four days after men from former Confederate states ensured America's victory against Spanish forces, "In the spirit of fraternity we should share with you in the care of the graves of Confederate soldiers. … Sectional feeling no longer holds back the love we feel for each other. The old flag again waves over us in peace with new glories."

The American Conservative underscored that it was long understood to be a reconciliation monument, such that "some Confederate groups at the time opposed the statue and memorial precisely because they opposed the reconciliation that it symbolized. At the memorial’s dedication in 1914, President Wilson praised it as an 'emblem of a reunited people.'"

EU Hits Musk With X Probe On Possible 'Disinformation'

European Commissioner Thierry Breton announced an investigation into Elon Musk's 'free speech' social media platform X for failure to combat 'illicit content and disinformation.' This is the first major probe the EU has opened up on X since last year's passing of a new law called the "Digital Services Act."

"Today we open formal infringement proceedings against @X" under the Digital Services Act, European Commissioner Breton wrote in a post on Monday morning on X.

"The Commission will now investigate X's systems and policies related to certain suspected infringements," spokesman Johannes Bahrke told reporters in Brussels, adding, "It does not prejudge the outcome of the investigation."

The investigation is centered on whether X failed to stop the spread of 'illegal content' (in other words, non-approved government narratives) and whether the Community Notes feature is enough to combat "information manipulation."

An investigation into X's business practices was signaled by the EU as early as October, following the Israel-Gaza conflict in which officials warned that "terrorist and violent content and hate speech" was spreading on the social media platform.

"The time of big online platforms behaving like they are 'too big to care' has come to an end," Breton stated.

She continued: "We now have clear rules, ex ante obligations, strong oversight, speedy enforcement, and deterrent sanctions and we will make full use of our toolbox to protect our citizens and democracies."

X spokesperson Joe Benarroch told Bloomberg by email: "X remains committed to complying with the Digital Services Act, and is cooperating with the regulatory process. It is important that this process remains free of political influence and follows the law."

Companies that fail to comply with the Digital Services Act could risk fines of up to 6% of annual revenue and eventual ban if no resolution is found.

Musk now faces increased weaponization of government agencies on both sides of the Atlantic as leftist Western politicians despise the billionaire's social media platform that allows users to post about non-government-approved narratives.

Diplomatic Visit Cancelled After German Chancellor Tests Positive for Coronavirus

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said Monday that he has tested positive for COVID-19, and the government said a visit by Slovakia’s new prime minister had to be canceled as a result.

Scholz wrote on social media platform X that “with few symptoms, I am counting on a mild case.” Spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit said the chancellor was in his office and communicating by phone and videoconference but would not perform any public duties on Monday and Tuesday.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was scheduled to meet Scholz in Berlin on Tuesday, and the visit had to be canceled, Hebestreit said.

Israel-linked group claims cyberattack that shut down 70% of Iran’s gas stations

Tehran cites ‘software problem’ as cause for shutdown; group known as Gonjeshke Darande takes responsibility, says attack is response to Iranian aggression

A hacking group that has previously been linked to Israel claimed on Monday to have paralyzed gas stations across Iran in a cyberattack.

The group known as “Gonjeshke Darande,” or “predatory sparrow,” said that it had disabled “a majority of the gas pumps throughout Iran.”

“This cyberattack comes in response to the aggression of the Islamic Republic and its proxies in the region,” the group said in statements in Persian and English.

“Khamenei, playing with fire has a price,” the group warned. “This is just a taste of what we have in store.”

The group claimed to have gained access to the payment systems of the impacted gas stations, as well as each station’s central server and management system.

Since the start of Israel’s war with Hamas in Gaza, which began with a shock onslaught on October 7 in which Hamas terrorists massacred some 1,200 people in southern Israel and took around 240 hostages, Iranian-backed groups such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen have stepped up attacks against Israel.

Iranian state media reported that close to 70% of the country’s gas stations were out of service, citing a “software problem” as the cause and urging people not to rush to the stations that were still operational.

Iranian state TV quoted a statement from the country’s Oil Ministry that said that more than 30% of gas stations remain in service. The country has some 33,000 gas stations.

Top Democrat Senator Demands Border ‘Must Be Shut Down’: ‘We Are Sold Out. We Are Over Capacity.’

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) expressed exasperation during an interview over the weekend about the continually worsening conditions on the U.S. southern border, saying that U.S. lawmakers were getting closer to passing new laws to stop a significant chunk of the illegal immigration.

Manchin made the remarks during a Sunday interview with Jake Tapper on CNN’s “State of the Union” while discussing negotiations between the Biden administration and the U.S. Senate.

“They understand that the border is broken, that glass ceiling has been broken,” he said. “And we have got to stop this dangerous immigration that we have coming to our country from all over the world, Jake, things that we have never seen, numbers that we have never seen like this.”

“The whole world is in a flux, and they’re taking advantage of a system that truly is broken,” he continued. “And this is not immigration reform. They’re basically working diligently on just securing the border. It must be done. It must be shut down.”

Manchin said that the threshold needed to be raised considerably “as far as on the definition of asylum.”

“You just can’t come and say: Someone threatened me. I have got to come into your country,” he continued. “You have to show me proof, have proof that this type of threat to you and your family is basically untenable, and you cannot live in those conditions. That’s going to change things. Even under the lower bar right now, Jake, when everything has been adjudicated — let’s say there’s 100 people adjudicated — less than 15 qualify with the lower definition of just saying: Someone threatened me. Can you imagine if we raise it to a more credible, higher level, that it will really be more difficult and do the job that the asylum is supposed to do and what it’s done in the past? That’s what we’re working towards.”

“And, basically, thousands and thousands of people have been dispersed throughout the country. It’ll give us time to basically make sure we can adjudicate them faster, and those who came for the wrong reason or just came in for — basically because of the relaxed rules that we had, we can be more stringent and enforce that, too,” he continued. “But you have to stop the influx of people coming and the incentive for people coming from all over the world to this country. It’s very, very dangerous, very dangerous. And I think you have seen the numbers and the countries they’re coming from. I have seen them. I’m very much concerned. It has to stop now.”

“We are sold out,” he later added. “We are over capacity right now, and we have to control this.”

Registered Israeli foreign agent driving contrived campus antisemitism crisis

Lawsuits accusing top US universities of harboring antisemitism all originate from one source: a corporate law firm that fielded the pro-settler ex-US ambassador to Israel, and which was registered as a foreign agent of an Israeli principal as recently as 2021.

The firm now represents professional Israel lobby activists posing as victimized “Jewish students” and seeking to crush the free speech rights of Palestine solidarity activists.

The fallout from December 5 House Committe on Antisemitism hearings has already cost University of Pennsylvania president Liz Magill her job, while demands by billionaire pro-Israel donors and politicians for the firing of Harvard’s Claudine Gay have grown by the day. Both stand accused of refusing to condemn calls for the genocide of Jews, even though no such calls have taken place on their campuses.

Meanwhile, little attention has been paid to the forces orchestrating the carefully choreographed, heavily-funded campaign to crush Palestine solidarity activism on campus.

The law firm leading the assault on the universities has included David Friedman, the former ambassador to Israel under Donald Trump, among its partners. Until 2021, this firm, Kasowitz Benson Torres, was registered with the US Department of Justice as a foreign agent on behalf of an Israeli principal.

The firm’s clients include associates of a jailed Ukrainian billionaire who bankrolled neo-Nazi militias, along with a who’s who of corporations accused of defrauding and even killing consumers.

Meanwhile, the “Jewish student” witnesses who set the stage for the attacks on Magill and her fellow university presidents at the House Antisemitism Committee were employed on at least a semi-professional basis by Israeli lobbying cutouts.

They included Jonathan Frieden, a Harvard Law student who moonlights as president of Alliance for Israel; MIT graduate student Talia Khan, the president of MIT Israel Alliance; and Bella Ingber, co-president of NYU’s Students Supporting Israel.

The most harrowing — and clearly questionable — claims furnished during the December 5 congressional hearings came courtesy of Eyal Yakoby, an Israeli-American senior at UPenn.

“Over the course of the last few weeks, I’ve… read the statement, ‘Ninety-percent of pigs are gas chambered!’ on the pavement as I walked to class,” Yakoby moaned.

The most likely explanation for the appearance of this phrase on UPenn’s Locust Walk was not the presence of chalk-wielding neo-Nazis but rather, that of animal welfare advocates, who were presumably calling attention to the fact that most pigs are killed by slaughterhouses which employ a grotesque method of gas inhalation exposed by activists in late 2022.
