Hmmmm

Interdasting question.

A day is an exact amount of time based on which planet you are on.

And a year is an exact amount of time based on which planet you are on.

But where do we get the idea of 7 days in a week except from the Bible?

Maybe based on the Moon cycle.

Every quarter moon is a week?

And then there's the female cycle.

Yikes

Every week is a different curve of a roller coaster.

Well, it is part of the 10 commandments.

8 โ€œRemember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Seems to me every civilization has had some type of a calendar.

They could tell the seasons, and how long a year was. And moon cycles, obviously.

But I'm not sure where the idea of a week came from except from the Bible.

Do other religions talk about taking a day off once every seven days?

Like Hindus or Buddhists? or other religions?

duh

That's what I was saying.

But did they call it a week and take a day off?

Or did they just go month by month?

Or maybe they didn't give a fuck about the moon and just went by the seasons?

Why do you feel the need to insult other people?

Does it make your feel superior?

I ask a speculative question and you act like a jerk.
