Long ago I wrote explaining how Congress is taking the lead on Iran policy. Recently, major developments involving the United States, Iran and the entire Middle East have placed the powerful US legislative body before obligations in the face of arguably the world’s most dangerous regime.

At a time when Iran’s foreign meddling and ballistic missile drive continues to raise eyebrows out of deep concern, important spotlight is being focused on a shadowy aspect of Tehran’s notorious schemes.

Politico released what has been described as a bombshell, exposing how Iran literally demanded the Obama administration facilitate a major drug trafficking/money-laundering campaign across four continents.

While senior Obama administration officials must be held accountable for their ties with the terrorist Lebanese Hezbollah, the main issue at hand is how to tackle the root: Iran.

‘Healthcare professional’ accused of murdering eight babies in British hospital

LONDON — Police on Tuesday arrested a “healthcare professional” on suspicion of murdering eight babies and attempting to kill six other infants as part of “Operation Hummingbird,” an inquiry into the sudden and unexplained deaths of 17 babies at a top-tier public hospital in Britain.

The female suspect worked at the neonatal unit of the Countess of Chester Hospital south of Liverpool.

Detectives were brought into the case following the mysterious deaths of 17 babies at the hospital between March 2015 and July 2016, alongside 15 “non-fatal collapses.”

Resistance: Thousands of Germans protest against Merkel and migration in Cottbus

The march was organised by Zukunft Heimat, a German community organisation, and took place throughout Cottbus, with demonstrators calling out, “Merkel must leave”, “We are the people” and “Deport!”.

According to Zukunft Heimat, thousands of citizens were protesting against Merkel’s open border policy. “We are a lot, our numbers grow and we will continue to protest until the 2015 open border policy stops”.

Memo confirms DNC server disappearance

Over 40 offices in the House of Representatives may have fallen victim to an “IT security violation,” according to a secret memo from top congressional law enforcement to the Committee on House Administration.

The memo, written in part by Paul Irving, the House’s sergeant at arms, detailed the disappearance of a server for the House Democratic Caucus following its marking as evidence in a cybersecurity probe. Imran Awan, email server administrator to former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and members of his family had logged into the server more than 7,000 times between 2015 and 2016 without proper authorization.

Since then, the memo alleges, the caucus server holding emails from lawmakers has been replaced by a lookalike, but the original is gone.

Oil climbs on Libya force majeure, Canada outage

• Oil prices rose on Tuesday after Libya declared force majeure on some of its crude exports, while the loss of Canadian supplies helped lift U.S. crude to 3-1/2-year highs.

U.S. light crude CLc1 jumped 99 cents, or 1.3 percent, to $74.93 a barrel, its highest since November 2014, before easing back to $74.79, up 85 cents, by 1120 GMT.

Benchmark Brent crude oil LCOc1 was up 70 cents at $78.00.

Scott Pruitt becomes latest Trump official to be harassed at a restaurant

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt became the most recent Trump administration figure to get an earful while trying to get a mouthful at a DC restaurant, according to a Facebook posting Monday.

Teacher Kristin Mink was shown approaching Pruitt as he chowed down with a pal at the Teaism restaurant Monday, four blocks from his office at the EPA’s headquarters.

“I just wanted to urge you to resign, because of what you’re doing to the environment in our country,” Mink said, holding her two-year-old son and a notepad, as her husband recorded the encounter.

A week ago, a 7-year-old girl was abducted outside her school, raped, then left with her throat slit open in central India. Now, thousands of people, including several of the country’s political leaders, are calling for her perpetrators to receive the death penalty.

'LGBT Segregation': UK University Bans Straight People from Housing

A highly-ranked UK university has been slammed for promoting “segregation” after offering accommodation for “LGBT plus” students that bans straight people.

Celeste Jones, women’s officer at the University of Sheffield’s Student Union (SU), confirmed the blocks will be introduced in September, saying they were exclusively for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered (LGBT+) people and would “offer students a safe space to be themselves”.
