>Maybe it entered another area with different temperatures or air pressure?

Sure that COULD be an explanation.

But does not address the real problem.

That problem is they hang around and spread out all day long. Eventually covering the sky.

Anon grew up watching contrails. Decades of observation. And back then they ALWAYS dissipated. Some took a little longer than others to go away. But they went away. They did not just spread out and cover the sky. Personal feeling is that there must be something on the ground that they don't want seen from above. Which might also explain the use of balloons in hopes of getting below the drawn curtain.

That's fine. No offense taken. It's just that it's obviously happening and want to explore all the possibilities. Also anon does not rule out some other reason. Maybe some misguided attempt to cool the atmosphere. Or even crop dusting. Come to think of it. We did have a cessation of that crap for a while. Right around the time the mass vaccinations were about to be rolled out.
