I get that but also people dont understand how worthless one's testimony is in a criminal court. A half-way decent defense attorney can have anyone's testimony made irrelevant in a criminal case.
The only thing he could provide that would be worthwhile of a deal is probable cause for a search warrant for hard evidence. And maybe thats just it. How does the nsa get its data into a court case? Maybe someone needs to say hey these people a, b, and c did really bad things. Then investigators take it to a judge and get a search warrant. Then investigators ask nsa for help. nsa says oh here you go. Boom, hard evidence. but honestly thats probably just my wishful thinking. This is probably just us getting played again.
