Trump says he is 'of course' entitled to immunity as he celebrates Supreme Court refusing to fast-track Jan 6 election interference case: Mocks 'deranged' Jack Smith for trying to 'short circuit our Great Constitution'

In a post to Truth Social, the former president, left, slammed 'deranged' Special Counsel Jack Smith, top right, and said it was a 'desperate attempt to short circuit our Great Constitution'. The justices, bottom right, delivered a blow to Smith by rebuffing his bid to leap-frog a lower court of appeals and speed up a ruling on the former president's claim he has immunity in the January 6 case. Trump has argued that the case should be dismissed because former presidents cannot face criminal charges for conduct related to their official responsibilities.
