I’m pretty sure if we took an fMRI of your brain, your amygdala and your anterior and posterior cingulate would show up as less active than our non psychopath control group.
What happened is that psychopaths actual brains are deformed or literally damaged at the cingulate gyrus. The event-related brain response is very similar to patients with temporal lobe damage.
In other words, your P3 would show up as quite weird, as we call it. You have a “weird P3” tell them.
Don’t worry, they’ll know what you mean when you say, “My ERP showed I have a weird P3 and I’d like to have an fMRI taken to find out about my amygdala and my anterior and posterior cingulate’s activity, please.” Then just show them your insurance. (Non psychopaths say please.)
