Rep. Burchett to Newsmax: Aliens Are Real, Covered-Up

Tennessee GOP Rep. Tim Burchett, during a Tuesday appearance on Newsmax, proclaimed that aliens are 100% real and that his proposal in an annual defense policy bill to make this public was cut. It would put the Department of Defense "out of business," as well as a host of other reasons such as "power" and "corruption."
According to USA Today, Burchett's proposal would have ordered the Pentagon to declassify records "'relating to publicly known sightings' of UFOs as long as they 'do not reveal sources, methods or otherwise compromise the national security of the United States.'"
When asked by "Rob Schmitt Tonight" why the measure was cut, the congressman responds, "imagine if we did have something with this incredible energy source … it would put the Pentagon out of business."
"It's power, its deception, it's corruption, it's all those things in Washington."
Schmitt asks, "As a member of Congress, you believe that our government knows far more about alien life than they are willing to tell us? How certain are you of that?"
"100%," Burchett responds. "I'm not saying I know everything. But I do know that this thing has been a cover-up since day one."
The congressman said that while the government has been secretive about the nature of UFOs, they are now being open to the possibility that they exist as a means to secure funding for their departments or agencies.
The government used to be secretive about the possibility of alien life and alien technology, Burchett adds. "Now they're saying, 'oh, there's something out there.'
"You just go down the list. All of our military branches, they're gonna want more money to guess what? To study these things, right? It's just been a cover-up from day one."
The government "handed them off to the military defense contractors years ago, and the separation means the media can't address it through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) because these are private enterprises."
Burchett suggests that the huge sums of money missing from the Pentagon's accounting over the years were used in conjunction with projects on these alien beings or their technology.
