>So bakers are allowed to be individuals and Anons are to be the homogeneous?

Admins don't stop anons from being individuals, posting distinctive memes or using individualistic styles (aei) - or bakers from posting distinctive banners

it's other anons, certain anons

Baking is a particularly cooperative venture so baker names are helpful, 8bit wrote a piece on that once.

Any anon can be find ways to stand out if they want to. If there's not much of a purpose to it or if it's too obnoxious, anons will let them know, right? But if the message is inspiring or they're subtle about it, what's the big deal?

Americans are by tradition individualists, not npc's. A chan board allows for complete anonymity. Potentially also allows for individual expression or friendships.

When Q said anons are nameless, etc., don't believe he ever intended that to mean we were OBLIGED to be nameless, faceless, etc. Just a respectful salute to a unique group of patriots.

>Many will say shit here they would never have the balls to say IRL

hmmm….how about requiring anons to have a perma-name here too, to help them refrain from acting like jerks online?

>>20164891

>Are you always the same person?

IRL and online pretty much the same.

>>Do you really become a different person when nameless on a chan board? Yes.

>Not when they're on your email list, huh?

Glad you brought this up. Several times now, kek.

Bakers are not required to be in touch by email. Only if they want Reporter status which makes baking easier. They need a password to get in. If I have a message for a baker, may ask him to ck email, some don't keep tabs open all the time.

>What on earth would you have to say to a baker, that couldn't be public on the forum?

Not everything is for public consumption, because shills jump on every little thing. Nothing wrong with email, you can use it, too. Of course, there's not much mileage there for shills.

All individuals also exist within a group.

IRL group, online group, what's the difference?

If some want to treat their online activities as opportunity for fantasy roleplaying, that's ok.

But there's a real adventure going on right now. Most 'dasting than any game.

anon discussions are still with us, when i bake, i always include the good ones

often post a news peg with solid info/dates - then anons' comments about it

bakers vary about this, as with all things

agree that short summaries make it much easier to follow the thread of a convo

however -

went to school when expository writing was valued, learned how to make an argument

some anons have mentioned they learned how to dig on this board

that's great but means they didn't get much in school beforehand

clear writing takes a lot of practice
