700+ Harvard “scholars” signed a letter saying they supported Claudine Gay as President before she resigned for serial plagiarism

Nearly every major medical org said the Covid vaccine was “safe and effective”

And they wonder why we now do the opposite whenever they say “trust the experts”

Claudine Gay Gives Tearful Resignation Speech Entitled 'Gettysburg Address'

CAMBRIDGE, MA — After facing weeks of pressure to resign following scandals involving campus antisemitism and plagiarism, Claudine Gay has announced she will step down as Harvard's President. She delivered her remarks this morning in a tearful speech entitled "Gettysburg Address."

"Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal," began Gay to a crowd of tearful diversity studies students. "Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battlefield of that war."

"I don't really know what these words have to do with her resignation, but the words are so beautiful!" said one 4th-year student who attended the speech. "It's a tragedy to lose such a gifted writer and orator."

Sources say the crowd was moved to tears by the time the speech concluded. "I have concluded that because of the Watergate matter I might not have the support of the Congress that I would consider necessary to back the very difficult decisions and carry out the duties of this office in the way the interests of the nation would require," she concluded. "Therefore, I shall resign from the presidency effective noon tomorrow."

At publishing time, Harvard confirmed they were already interviewing several other communist black women to replace Gay.

Yeah Claudine Gay resigned, but did we solve the problem?

Academia and corporate America are still infected with DEI.

We handed the reigns over to a bunch of brainwashed theater kids, and they ran all our institutions into the ground.

Time to go back to hiring people on merit.

Embattled Harvard President Claudine Gay set to resign after plagiarism, antisemitism scandals

Harvard President Claudine Gay is set to resign Tuesday, marking the shortest-ever presidency in the University’s history, the Harvard Crimson reported.

Embattled Harvard president Claudine Gay resigns after plagiarism, antisemitism scandals

Harvard University president Claudine Gay announced Tuesday she is stepping down from leading the prestigious school and will return to the faculty following weeks of controversy over campus politics and her own academic record.

“It is with a heavy heart but a deep love for Harvard that I write to share that I will be stepping down as president,” Gay wrote in the emotional missive.

“[I]t has become clear that it is in the best interests of Harvard for me to resign so that our community can navigate this moment of extraordinary challenge with a focus on the institution rather than any individual,” she explained of the decision.

News of Gay’s resignation comes just six months and two days into her historic presidency — which marked the first time a black leader helmed the nation’s most prestigious university — and broke one day after six new allegations of plagiarism brought the total number of claims against her to well over two dozen.

Gay had also come under fire in October for her slow response to condemn Hamas for its terror attack on Israel. In her resignation, she said she had also been subjected to racism since the controversy started.

“It has been distressing to have doubt cast on my commitments to confronting hate and to upholding scholarly rigor — two bedrock values that are fundamental to who I am — and frightening to be subjected to personal attacks and threats fueled by racial animus.”

The Harvard Corporation — the university’s highest governing body — also confirmed Gay’s resignation in its own statement.

Harvard provost and chief academic officer Alan M. Garber will step in as interim president, the corporation said.

House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY), who questioned Gay during her disastrous appearance before Congress, pulled no punches after hearing of the resignation.

“The resignation of Harvard’s antisemitic plagiarist president is long overdue. Claudine Gay’s morally bankrupt answers to my questions made history as the most viewed Congressional testimony in the history of the US Congress,” said Stefanik, a Harvard alumna.

“Her answers were absolutely pathetic and devoid of the moral leadership and academic integrity required of the President of Harvard.”

The latest accusation claimed that Gay lifted nearly half a page of material verbatim from David Cannon’s 1999 book “Race Redistricting and Representation: The Unintended Consequences of Black Majority Districts” for her own 2001 article, the complaint obtained by the Washington Free Beacon stated.

Cannon, however, denied that Gay’s use of his work was plagiarism.

“I am not at all concerned about the passages,” he told the Washington Free Beacon.

“Both Dr. Gay and I are defining basic terms such as Section 2 and Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act, covered jurisdictions, and bailout. Good definitions of these terms would have to use similar language or they would not be accurate!” he insisted.

“This isn’t even close to an example of academic plagiarism.”

Here’s how we got here:

Harvard first faced calls to fire Gay after she stood by the more than 30 Harvard student groups that published a letter claiming they held Israel “entirely responsible” for Hamas’ Oct. 7 terrorist attacks.

Gay faced further calls to step down after disastrous House testimony on antisemitism, in which the embattled president told Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) that calls for genocide against the Jews would only violate Harvard’s rules depending on their “context.”

Harvard announced Gay would remain president despite the school losing a reported $1 billion in donations.

Journalists Christopher Rufo and Chris Brunet revealed that the embattled president plagiarized sections of her doctoral thesis, Harvard had previously covered up its own probe and threatened The Post when it looked into plagiarism allegations against Gay.

Former Professor Carol Swain, whose work Gay is accused of plagiarizing, said Harvard lacks the courage to fire “its first black president.” She added that Gay is “getting a free pass.”

Billionaire Bill Ackman claims that Harvard won’t fire her because it would look like it was “kowtowing” to him.

Four doxxing trucks are parked outside Gay’s home, calling her “the best friend Hamas ever had.”

The embattled prez was hit with six new plagiarism allegations on Monday, January 1, 2024.

She was set to stepped down the following day.

The complaint also included additional flags from Gay’s dissertation, which already received three corrections due to “instances of inadequate citation.”

The new charges were brought by the same anonymous professor who previously accused Gay of plagiarism to The Post.

The Harvard Crimson backed Gay over the weekend — arguing that she may have plagiarized in the past, but should not have to step down from her post.

“To be clear, sloppiness of this kind is unbefitting of a Harvard president,” the article said of the allegations about Gay’s academic work.

“A sober-minded assessment of the plagiarism charges indicates that Gay’s behavior constitutes plagiarism, but since the errors do not appear intentional, they do not warrant her resignation,” the editorial board hedged.

Read It: Claudine Gay's Tone-Deaf Resignation

As Townhall reported earlier on Tuesday, alleged serial plagiarist and president of Harvard Claudine Gay resigned her post, thereby setting the record for the shortest presidential tenure in the supposedly "elite" school's hundreds of years of history.

After the student-run Harvard Crimson broke the news of President Gay's imminent resignation, Harvard circulated a full letter from its disgraced and scandal-plagued leader. Here's what she had to say for herself, seemingly without much self-awareness:

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,

It is with a heavy heart but a deep love for Harvard that I write to share that I will be stepping down as president. This is not a decision I came to easily. Indeed, it has been difficult beyond words because I have looked forward to working with so many of you to advance the commitment to academic excellence that has propelled this great university across centuries. But, after consultation with members of the Corporation, it has become clear that it is in the best interests of Harvard for me to resign so that our community can navigate this moment of extraordinary challenge with a focus on the institution rather than any individual.

It is a singular honor to be a member of this university, which has been my home and my inspiration for most of my professional career. My deep sense of connection to Harvard and its people has made it all the more painful to witness the tensions and divisions that have riven our community in recent months, weakening the bonds of trust and reciprocity that should be our sources of strength and support in times of crisis. Amidst all of this, it has been distressing to have doubt cast on my commitments to confronting hate and to upholding scholarly rigor—two bedrock values that are fundamental to who I am—and frightening to be subjected to personal attacks and threats fueled by racial animus.

I believe in the people of Harvard because I see in you the possibility and the promise of a better future. These last weeks have helped make clear the work we need to do to build that future—to combat bias and hate in all its forms, to create a learning environment in which we respect each other’s dignity and treat one another with compassion, and to affirm our enduring commitment to open inquiry and free expression in the pursuit of truth. I believe we have within us all that we need to heal from this period of tension and division and to emerge stronger. I had hoped with all my heart to lead us on that journey, in partnership with all of you. As I now return to the faculty, and to the scholarship and teaching that are the lifeblood of what we do, I pledge to continue working alongside you to build the community we all deserve.

When I became president, I considered myself particularly blessed by the opportunity to serve people from around the world who saw in my presidency a vision of Harvard that affirmed their sense of belonging—their sense that Harvard welcomes people of talent and promise, from every background imaginable, to learn from and grow with one another. To all of you, please know that those doors remain open, and Harvard will be stronger and better because they do.

As we welcome a new year and a new semester, I hope we can all look forward to brighter days. Sad as I am to be sending this message, my hopes for Harvard remain undimmed. When my brief presidency is remembered, I hope it will be seen as a moment of reawakening to the importance of striving to find our common humanity—and of not allowing rancor and vituperation to undermine the vital process of education. I trust we will all find ways, in this time of intense challenge and controversy, to recommit ourselves to the excellence, the openness, and the independence that are crucial to what our university stands for—and to our capacity to serve the world.

Sincerely,

Claudine Gay

HARVARD PRESIDENT CLAUDINE GAY RESIGNS, SHORTEST TENURE IN UNIVERSITY HISTORY

Harvard President Claudine Gay will resign Tuesday afternoon, bringing an end to the shortest presidency in the University's history, according to a person with knowledge of the decision.

University Provost Alan M. Garber '76 will serve as Harvard's interim president during a search for Gay's permanent successor, the Harvard Corporation — the University's highest governing body — announced in an email on Tuesday.

Harvard spokesperson Jonathan L. Swain declined to comment on Gay's decision to step down.

Gay’s resignation — just six months and two days into the presidency — comes amid growing allegations of plagiarism and lasting doubts over her ability to respond to antisemitism on campus after her disastrous congressional testimony Dec. 5.

Gay weathered scandal after scandal over her brief tenure, facing national backlash for her administration’s response to Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack and allegations of plagiarism in her scholarly work.

Gay is expected to announce her decision to step down to Harvard affiliates in an email later today. The Corporation is also expected to make a statement about the decision.

The announcement comes three weeks after the Corporation announced unanimous support for Gay after “extensive deliberations” following the congressional hearing.

This story will be updated.

This is why Ron DeSantis wears lifts.

Out of the last 12 Presidents we have had, the shortest one was Jimmy Carter, who is 5 foot 10.

Ron DeSantis is 5 foot 7 (and some say shorter). He isn’t even anatomically fit to be President of the United States of America.
