>I thought the entire idea was not to have a nationalized or recognized religion as it allows the freedom of expression and association.
I agree and we don't. We have recognition of The Creator God in our founding documents, and the Birth of Christ in our calendar. The nation was founded by Christians. But there isn't a mandated belief in God or a national religion. To seek to remove God from our foundation is to desire an absence of the free expression of religion to those people and everyone who agrees. The communists wanted that government, free of all expression of religion. Christ doesn't make you choose Him. But here we made rules that say you are free to choose Christ and have your whole life reflect that, even as you serve as persons in government.
