I totally disagree. Are you trying to tell me he did not commit treason, espionage and a myriad of other crimes? He is a foreigner committing great crimes against our country. Don't care if he is the lowest on the tree. No Deals for treason. So what if he sung. Singing should keep him out the noose, not out of prison. If DOJ could find no evidence of any crimes, then we are truly fucked. Or led on a wild ride. If there is no evidence, then he is a witness to what exactly? No evidence, no crime.

Surely you jest. This deal was made by the DOJ, not his atty's. If it was a simple bank fraud case, why exonerate him for crimes he was not charged with? If you take the time to read the deal, you will see part of the deal was he can no longer be charged with any non violent crimes prior to the signing of that deal.

So, please tell me what part of American Law I do not understand.

The Grand Jury is used to determine if there is enough evidence of a crime committed. It does not prosecute a case. It only sees the prosecutions case, not defendants. It would be tried in the district the crime was committed.

Grand juries do not decide innocence or not. Only whether there is enough evidence that a crime has been committed. The trial would be held in the district the crime was committed in or the district where the defendant has his primary residence.

The Federal judge today signed an order that Awan can never be prosecuted for any crimes committed in the district of DC. I do not see any way he can now be prosecuted for crimes he committed.
