Outrage as SNP proposes 'seven years in jail' for parents who refuse kids' gender change

Parents may even be prosecuted pre-emptively, before any refusal about their child changing gender takes place.

Humza Yousaf Is Sworn In As Scotland's First Minister

Parents that don’t permit their children to change their gender could be jailed for up to seven years under radical new plans from the SNP to ban “conversion therapy”.

Tuesday’s proposals reveal that under the pro-independence party’s plans any actions designed to “change or suppress” the gender identity of another individual, or that causes another individual physical harm or psychological distress would be illegal.

SNP ministers claimed that alleged conversion often took place in a “family setting”, indicating that parents could be prosecuted if they refuse to accept that their child is transgender.

As an example of something that would be made illegal under the new rules, a child could not be prevented from “dressing in a way that reflects their sexual orientation or gender identity” without the parent stopping them falling foul of the law. This is irrespective of whether the parent believed they were acting in the best interests of the child.

Want to avoid Covid? Go VEGAN: Scientists claim plant-based diet may cut risk of catching virus by over a third amid spread of new Juno variant

Going vegan could cut your risk of catching Covid, if questionable new research is to be believed.

Experts discovered vegetarians and people on a plant-based diet were 39 per cent less likely to get infected than meat-eaters.

Brazilian researchers said this was likely down to high fruit and veg intake boosting the immune system, helping bat off viral infections.

However, the paper was merely observational and cannot prove anything about who is most susceptible to the illness.

Academics acknowledged that meat eaters in the study were more likely to exercise less and have illnesses like cardiovascular disease and diabetes, suggesting they led unhealthier lifestyles.

Being overweight or having an underlying illness can raise the risk of being hospitalised or dying from Covid.

However, the new study found that meat-eaters were no more likely to suffer these severe outcomes.

People with underlying conditions, such as diabetes and liver disease, are known to have weaker immune system that make them more likely to catch bugs.

The scientists, from the University of São Paulo, analysed data from 702 people, who were quizzed about their daily exercise habits, eating patterns and medical history — including Covid vaccination status.

Volunteers were then divided into either omnivorous (424) or predominantly plant-based (278) dietary groups.

Researchers noted there were no significant differences in sex, age or vaccination uptake between the two groups but vegans and vegetarians were more likely to have a postgraduate degree and exercise regularly.

What do we know about Juno?

Juno was first spotted by the UKHSA as part of routine horizon scanning - the process of monitoring emerging infections with the potential to affect the UK.

The variant, scientifically known as JN.1, was flagged because it contained a L455S mutation in the spike protein.

This tweak is known to help the virus dodge immune protection built up from previous infection and vaccination.

It was also taking off internationally as well as in the UK, the UKHSA noted.

This led the agency to designate the strain an official variant, labelling it V-23DEC-01 - a process that means it is formally being tracked.

As of December 30, Juno was behind 64.5 per cent of the UK's Covid cases.

Over a follow-up of six months, almost half of all volunteers (47 per cent) reported to have contracted Covid.

Of these, just under a third (224) suffered mild symptoms, with 106 (15 per cent) moderate to severe symptoms.

A higher proportion of omnivores reported getting Covid (52 per cent) than their plant-based counterparts (40 per cent).

After accounting for influencing factors including weight, pre-existing medical conditions and physical activity levels, researchers found people on predominantly plant-based diets were 39 per cent less likely to become infected than omnivores.

There was no difference in how long symptoms lasted between the two groups.

Writing in the journal, BMJ Nutrition Prevention & Health, the researchers claimed plant-based diets provide more nutrients that boost the immune system and help to fight viral infections.

They said: 'Plant-based dietary patterns are rich in antioxidants, phytosterols and polyphenols, which positively affect several cell types implicated in the immune function and exhibit direct antiviral properties.'

Despite acknowledging that 'more rigorous and high quality' research must be done before drawing any firm conclusions on its impact on Covid, they still urged people to adopt plant-based diets.

Experts, however, warned the study 'can't provide substantial evidence' for the recommendation.

Professor Margaret Rayman, an expert in nutritional medicine at the University of Surrey, said: 'The authors of the study say that "those following a predominantly plant-based or vegetarian/vegan diet were 39 per cent less likely to become infected than the omnivores" which is due to their healthier weight and lifestyle.

'My explanation for their result is that insufficient adjustments were made between the groups to take account of the differences, a case of unaccounted confounding.'

Interest in a plant-based diet has soared in recent years, with vegans citing ethical, environmental or health reasons.

Some studies have also suggested the diet lowers the risk of heart attacks and type 2 diabetes.

The exact numbers of vegans now in the UK is almost impossible to establish.

But one recent survey suggested around 600,000 people are believed to be on a plant-based diet, while another in 2021 claimed that almost a third of Brits used alternative milks.

It comes as experts this week warned Brits should be braced for another resurgence of Covid amid a surge in cases.

Office for National Statistics figures suggest one in 16 people in London were infected with the virus in mid-December, making it England's worst-hit region in the run up to Christmas.

Separate data released this week suggests the Juno variant, a spin-off of the Omicron strain and scientifically known as JN.1, makes up two-thirds of new cases.

It first started spreading in the UK in October and was spotted by the UK Health Security Agency as part of routine horizon scanning — the process of monitoring emerging infections.

The variant was flagged because it contained a rogue mutation in the spike protein known to help the virus dodge the body's internal defences.

Health experts say this makes it easier for the virus to infect the nose and throat compared to other circulating variants, which the immune system finds easier to fight off due to vaccination and previous infection.

But there is no evidence to suggest that it is more dangerous than previous strains.

There are concerns it will fuel the number struck by long Covid — symptoms of infection that last longer than a month, such as brain fog, tiredness and headaches.

Covid infection rates, however, are nowhere near levels seen earlier in the pandemic.

Number of EXCESS DEATHS among young Americans in first 9 months of 2023 is 158K higher than the same period in 2019

https://www.naturalnews.com/2024-01-09-2023-excess-deaths-young-americans-higher-than-2019.html

The number of unexpected or excess deaths in the first nine months of 2023 is about 158,000 higher than the same period in 2019 and has even surpassed the combined losses from every conflict since the Vietnam War.

A report by the Society of Actuaries (SOA) disclosed this concerning find. The SOA's report, which is used by insurance companies to inform their decisions, found that the excess deaths are disproportionately affecting young, working-age individuals.

Mortality rates among the insured group aged 25 to 34 saw a 19 percent increase in deaths, while the insured group aged 35 to 44 saw a 26 percent increase in deaths. Surprisingly, the mortality rate among insured individuals aged 65 and older were six percent below the pre-pandemic norm.

Moreover, life insurance companies reported that death claims surged by 15.4 percent to $90 billion in 2020 – the largest one-year leap since the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic. While claims slowed down in 2022, they still exceeded 2019 levels.

Given this data, actuaries and industry analysts predict that more younger people with life insurance will continue to die unexpectedly until 2030. This prediction goes against what is normally expected to happen for a healthy group of individuals with life insurance. As a result, insurance experts advocate for the adaptation of early-warning programs to detect potential health issues among those with life insurance policies. COVID-19 vaccines have something to do with decline in life expectancy

Writing for the New American, Selwyn Duke mentioned the series of alarming posts from Dr. Robert Califf, commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Califf's posts on X in December of last year said that while the government overlooks the major decline in life expectancy among young, working-age people, he believes it is a cause for concern.

"We are facing extraordinary headwinds in our public health with a major decline in life expectancy. The major decline in the U.S. is not just a trend. I'd describe it as catastrophic," he wrote.

The FDA head also mentioned a recent report from JAMA International Medicine conducted this December revealed that the average life expectancy in the U.S. has fallen to 76 years, with male life expectancy dropping even lower to 73 years.

An X user replied to Califf's post, linking the decline in life expectancy to the COVID-19 vaccine and citing a study to support her argument. The said study highlighted an increase in cancer rates among Britons that coincided with the rollout of the injections:

Fatal breast cancer rates among women rose by 28 percent

Pancreatic cancer deaths increased by 80 percent among women and 60 percent among men

Colon cancer deaths increased by 55 percent among men and 41 percent among women

Fatal melanomas saw a 120 percent increase among men and a 35 percent increase among women

Brain cancer deaths increased by 35 percent among men and 12 percent among women

Cancer deaths "without site specification" rose by 60 percent among men and 55 percent among women

The X user highlighted the fact that COVID-19 vaccines are contaminated with simian virus 40, which is highly linked to cancer. They also asked Califf if the FDA is going to recall the injections, given this contamination. "I further hope the FDA is looking into T-cell exhaustion following vaccination, which could explain why so many people are getting turbo cancer now," the user concluded.
