American exceptionalism is 'running on fumes' and ideology that US is BETTER than every nation on earth is threatened by woke apologetic initiatives that stifle creativity and meritocracy

▶ Scholars warn that America's unique authority is under unprecedented attack from within driven by federal power grabs and DEI initiatives

▶ American exceptionalism has been a core doctrine since the revolution based on liberty, democracy and free enterprise

▶ Hoover fellow Victor Davis Hanson cites former Harvard president Claudine Gay as an example of the new woke ideology where identity trumps talent

The moral authority of American exceptionalism, built on its unique opportunities and freedoms, is under an unprecedented attack that threatens to rob the country of its claim to leadership. Victor Davis Hanson, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, said the people who built the country would struggle under today's government overreach and DEI initiatives tailored to stifle individuality. And he cited former Harvard president Claudine Gay as someone who owes their success to the new ideology that prizes identity over talent. 'We still have more talent and wealth than any other nation. We're still the freest nation. But all of the odds are stacking up against the type of person who made America exceptional,' he said. 'We're running on fumes.'
