GHISLAINE MAXWELL RECEIVES SPECIAL PRISON BENEFITS VIA ORGANIZATION LINKED TO CHABAD-LUBAVITCH HEADQUARTERS!
Last summer it was reported that Ghislaine Maxwell was taking advantage of special treatment reserved for Jewish prisoners while incarcerated in federal prison.
The Sun reported that a Jewish organization called Reaching Out, that advocates for prisoners' rights, reached out to Maxwell and said that they were prepared to offer her assistance.
Reaching Out, which is based in New York, are followers of the Lubavitch Rebbe, according to their site. The group's mission is to help Jewish prisoners cope with the fears and anxieties prior to going to jail and the obstacles and hurdles while in prison.
A spokesperson from Reaching Out told The Sun: âMaxwell is in touch with our organization. We have and will continue to address her needs.â
Maxwell gets kosher food, which is costlier, access to a Rabbi and is excused work for 25 hours from sundown on Fridays to observe the Sabbath. She can also take a break from prison chores on Jewish holidays. Sheâs also Âeligible for the associated wine or grape juice and breaking of bread.
One of the Reaching Out team members listed on their website is Rabbi Yehuda Spritzer. Spritzer studied at the Chabad-Lubavitch Headquarters, 770 Eastern Parkway, where the hidden tunnels were discovered last night.
On Dec. 10, 2019, The Chabad-Lubavitch and the Clinton Foundation websites announced that Atlanta-area Chabad rabbis were selected to participate in a Clinton Foundation project for a nine-session opioid awareness and prevention seminar for interfaith leaders. This announcement came just a few months after Jeffrey Epstein was arrested and then allegedly committed suicide in 2019.
Both Epstein and Maxwell have claimed they helped launch the Clinton Foundation.

Sexual abuse cases in Brooklyn's Haredi community
Notable cases
This section needs to be updated. Please help update this article to reflect recent events or newly available information.
Last update: Specifically, the Luban and Weberman cases (and related cases) have concluded (May 2015)
In 2002, Rabbi Yechiel Brauner was convicted on the charges of Sexual Abuse in the 1st Degree and 3rd Degrees. He was sentenced to 11 years probation, with the condition that he must participate in a sex offender treatment program.[23]
In 2008, Joel Kolko, a rabbi at Yeshiva Torah Temimah, pleaded guilty after being accused of sexually abusing two of his first-grade students.[24]
In 2009, Yona Weinberg, a bar mitzvah tutor and licensed social worker from Flatbush, was convicted of molesting two boys under the age of 14. At his trial, where he was sentenced to 13 months in prison, the courtroom was packed with Weinberg's supporters who maintained his innocence. In response, presiding Justice Gordon L. Reichbach criticized the "communal attitude that seeks to blame, indeed punish, victims"; these victims had been kicked out of their schools and summer camps after coming forward with the allegations against Weinberg.[1]
In 2009, Rabbi Israel Weingarten was convicted in a Brooklyn court of raping his daughter between the ages of nine and eighteen.[7]
Some boys have reported being molested while in the mikvah, a ritual bath that is considered a symbol of purity in Judaism.[6]
In 2011, a member of the community was charged by a local Special Victims Unit with witness tampering for sending threatening text messages to members of the Orthodox community urging them to pressure the family of an 11-year-old abuse victim to drop the case.[1]
Pearl Engleman, a member of the Satmar sect aged 64 in 2012, said she became an anti-abuse activist after her son was molested as a child by a rabbi at his yeshiva. Under New York law, his case could not be prosecuted since the statute of limitations has already expired.[6][5]
In 2012, Chabad-Lubavitch rabbi Moshe Keller was sentenced to three years' probation for molesting a then-15-year-old boy in 2009.[1]

Ultra-Orthodox Shun Their Own for Reporting Child Sexual Abuse

See how this article appeared when it was originally published on NYTimes.com.
The first shock came when Mordechai Jungreis learned that his mentally disabled teenage son was being molested in a Jewish ritual bathhouse in Brooklyn. The second came after Mr. Jungreis complained, and the man accused of the abuse was arrested.
Old friends started walking stonily past him and his family on the streets of Williamsburg. Their landlord kicked them out of their apartment. Anonymous messages filled their answering machine, cursing Mr. Jungreis for turning in a fellow Jew. And, he said, the mother of a child in a wheelchair confronted Mr. Jungreisâs mother-in-law, saying the same man had molested her son, and she âdid not report this crime, so why did your son-in-law have to?â
By cooperating with the police, and speaking out about his sonâs abuse, Mr. Jungreis, 38, found himself at the painful forefront of an issue roiling his insular Hasidic community. There have been glimmers of change as a small number of ultra-Orthodox Jews, taking on longstanding religious and cultural norms, have begun to report child sexual abuse accusations against members of their own communities. But those who come forward often encounter intense intimidation from their neighbors and from rabbinical authorities, aimed at pressuring them to drop their cases.
In Crown Heights, where the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic movement has its headquarters, there has been more significant change. In July 2011, a religious court declared that the traditional prohibition against mesirah did not apply in cases with evidence of abuse. âOne is forbidden to remain silent in such situations,â said the ruling, signed by two of the courtâs three judges.
Since then, five molesting cases have been brought from the neighborhoodâ âas many sexual abuse-related arrests and reports as there had been in the past 20 years,â said Eliyahu Federman, a lawyer who helps victims in Crown Heights, citing public information.
Mordechai Feinstein, 19, helped prompt the ruling by telling the Crown Heights religious court that he had been touched inappropriately at age 15 by Rabbi Moshe F. Keller, a Lubavitcher who ran a foundation for at-risk youthand whom Mr. Feinstein had considered his spiritual mentor.
Last week, Rabbi Keller was sentenced in Criminal Court to three yearsâ probation for endangering the welfare of a child. And Mr. Feinstein, who is no longer religious, is starting a campaign to encourage more abuse victims to come forward. He is working with two prominent civil rights attorneys, Norman Siegel and Herbert Teitelbaum, who are asking lawyers to provide free assistance to abuse victims frustrated by their dealings with prosecutors.
âThe community is a garden; there are a lot of beautiful things about it,â Mr. Feinstein said. âWe just have to help them weed out the garden and take out the things that donât belong there.â

==Watching the Jewish Community Watch and Its âWall of Shameâ
A young manâs brazen blog about alleged child sex-abusers in the Chabad community divides Crown Heights==
by
Rachel Silberstein
July 26, 2013
In June 2011, shortly after Moshe Keller, a rabbi who ran an organization for wayward Chabad youth, was charged with molesting a local teenaged boy,an anonymous blog began to circulate in Crown Heights, the heart of the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic movement. In the blogâs initial post, its author, who first called the site Crown Heights Watch, later changing the name to Jewish Community Watch (JCW), claimed thatKeller had been âsexually abusing children since his days in Israel, two decades ago.â
âHe believes he can hide behind being a rabbi, since the Rabbonim (rabbis) of the Jewish communities have a track record of hiding such matters,â the post continued.
At first, only Kellerâs photo was posted, along with a testimonial from an alleged victim and a call for additional victims to report abuse to the police.A month later, two more men, Yaacov Weiss, who pleaded guilty to child-endangerment charges in 2010,and a never-charged cantorwere added to the blogâs âWall of Shame.â People began to whisper, speculating about who could be behind the blog. The blogger, fearful of retribution, remained anonymous until the summer of 2012, when he revealed himself to be 23-year-old Meyer Seewald, a long-haired local with pale blue eyes, a stubborn jaw, and a dark tan.
Now 24,Seewald claims to have a database containing over 225 suspected sex offenders and a confidential eight-member advisory âboardâ made up of mental-health professionals, legal experts, and rabbis who, according to Seewald, refuse to acknowledge their roles publicly for fear of backlash. JCWâs Wall of Shame features36 accused abusers, 21 of them arrested, according to the site, each added when the âboardâ has determined there is sufficient evidence of wrongdoing. Like other Jewish blogs dedicated to sex-abuse awareness, such as Mark Appellâs Voice of Justice or Vicky Pollinâs The Awareness Center, JCW aggregates related news and offers referrals for legal advice or counseling services, but Seewald takes the job a step further. When a victim who confides in Seewald is unwillingâor unable due to the statute of limitationsâto press charges, Seewald conducts his own investigation, selectively exposing alleged abusers on his Wall of Shame.
According to Chaim Levin, 24, a Crown Heights blogger and activist who won $3.5 million judgment against his cousin on June 12, claiming years of childhood sex abuse, gaining Seewald as an ally was a relief. âThe day I got a call from Seewald asking me about my story was the first time I believed that our community was actually making some progress in combating abuse,â said Levin. âI had been talking about what happened to me to anyone who would listen since I was 14, but everyone told me to keep it to myself and move on.â
Seewaldâs confrontational style is evident in his latest project, Project E.M.E.S., an acronym for Educating Mosdos (institutions) on Eradicating Sexual abuse, launched this month, which aims to prevent sex abuse in religious summer camps. The projectâs accompanying video, titled âA Friendly Message to Camp Counselors,â warns them: âI donât care who you are, what family you come from. If you touch a child, we will find out about it.â
But is Seewaldâwhose apparent irreverence for the hierarchies of Jewish institutions sets him apart from other crusaders in the fieldâhelping or doing more harm than good? Seewald said he hopes the blogâs Wall of Shame will warn parents and instill fear in local predators, preventing the victimization of more children. âThe only thing molesters are afraid of is being exposed and caught. They are more afraid of the Wall of Shame, than going to jail,â he told me. But the Wall of Shame has also proved to be deeply problematic; used irresponsibly, it can easily undermine the organizationâs objectives and destroy an innocent personâs life. According to Ben Hirsch, co-founder of Survivors for Justice, an organization that advocates and educates on issues of child safety, Seewald is on a dangerous track. âSetting up a separate registry [from the law enforcement agencies] can be perceived as condoning a separate justice system,â he told me, âWhich, in a way, perpetuates the message of the rabbis that we can deal with this issue in-house. The message must instead be that the only way to deal with child sex abuse is to report it directly to the police, without any prior consultation with a rabbi or other communal figure.â

Seewald was 17 when his friend Benny Keller died in his arms in the summer of 2006. According to Kellerâs close friends, a fistfight several days prior to their camping trip in the Catskill mountains had caused him to hemorrhage in his sleep. At the funeral, Bennyâs father spoke. Moved by the crowd of Chabad youngsters in attendance, Moshe Keller wept and vowed to start an organization in his sonâs name (called Gesher Ben Tzion) to support âat-riskâ teens. When Seewald heard about Rabbi Kellerâs arrest five years later, he began question anyone who had spent time at Kellerâs home, and two of his friends told him they had been violated by Keller.
âI came home in shock, like, this person abused people,â said Seewald. âI remember telling my siblings, my mom, my brothers, and no one understood. They just saw the pain in my face.â
On his own, Seewald launched an investigation, tracking every move Keller made and every person who had come in contact with him in 20 years. One clue led to another, and Seewald said he learned that Keller had been accused of child sex abuse in Israel and that Crown Heights rabbis had helped him put the charges behind him.
One of Kellerâs alleged victims, who called me from London, said he emailed Rabbi Shea Hecht, who represents the National Committee for the Furtherance of Jewish Education, in 2007, following a series of sex-abuse seminars moderated by the rabbi, but Hecht, concerned for Kellerâs family, did not suggest going to the police.
â[Hecht] was the go-to guy [for sex abuse]; if you couldnât trust him to take care of things properly, there was no one else.â said the victim, now 25, who asked not to be named.
In fact, no charges were brought against Keller until 2011, when a third victim, Mordechai Feinstein, filed a complaint against him, and in May 2012, Keller would be sentenced to three years of probation for endangering the welfare of a child. When Seewald posted Kellerâs picture on his blog along with a call for victims to come forward, he thought he had done his part to end decades of cover-up.
Three months passed and Seewald noticed an email account associated with the blog. When he figured out how to access it, he told me he found hundreds of emails from people who had been affected by sex abuse and he realized that he had no choice but to keep helping victims find justice.
âIt really, really got to me. None of these people had spoken to anyone about it. No one was doing anything,â Seewald said.

The arrests of rabbis who trafficked body parts uncover more complicated issues.
By Benyamin Cohen
July 24, 20094:11 PM
With the right ingredients of salaciousness and scandal, the news appeared to be straight out of a Hollywood screenplay: corrupt politicians, money laundering, people being arrested by the busload, raids on synagogues, an Apple Jacks cereal box stuffed with $97,000 in cash, and rabbis trafficking organs. Allegedly, one paid $10,000 to an impoverished Israeli for his or her kidney and tried to sell it for upward of $150,000 in the United States. The criminal complaint quotes the rabbi as saying he was in the organ business for a decade. (And in a you-canât-make-this-stuff-up twist, it wasnât even the dayâs only story on Israelis trafficking human body parts.)
The rabbisâ organ trafficking was only one of their many indiscretions. In addition to being against the law, it raises a complex bioethical issue for Jews, one laced in a culture of moral imperatives. Is illegally buying an organ really wrong if itâs saving someoneâs life? Is paying for altruism, by definition, counterintuitive? Jews have been battling this quandary for a long time, especially when you consider how little they themselves actually help the cause of transplantation.

Israeli doctors indicted for human egg trafficking
By Rachel Tepper July 23, 2009 11:34 pm
WASHINGTON (JTA) â Romania indicted nearly two dozen Bucharest-basedIsraeli fertility doctors in a human egg trafficking scandal.
The 22 doctors were caught in a raid on a Bucharest fertility clinic that was alleged to have been operating without required permits, Haâaretz reported Thursday.
The head of the Romanian Medical Association on Tuesday likened the illicit clinic activities to Nazi practices.
Professor Vasili Esterestua told Romanian TV thatthe clinic "carried out medical experiments similar to those the Nazis did in Auschwitz,"and the doctors exhibited "severe ethical deficiency."

FBI ARRESTS MAYORS, RABBIS IN NEW JERSEY SWEEP
By Social Links for Post Staff Report
Published July 23, 2009, 12:50 p.m. ET
Three New Jersey mayors, two state assemblymen and roughly 40 other officials and private citizens, including rabbis, were rounded up today by federal authorities after a massive, 10-year investigation of an international money laundering ring.
The ring allegedly trafficked in goodsas diverse as human organs and fake designer handbags.Suspects were taken by the carload to the FBIâs Newark office, with cars at times stacked four-deep waiting to unload their passengers.
Three hundred agents in 54 locations in New Jersey and New York were involved in the arrests this morning, the Newark Star-Ledger reported.
The wide-ranging scandal led to the resignation of Jerseyâs commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs, Joseph Doria. He wasnât arrested but after his office and home were searched, Gov. Corzine said he could no longer be effective and asked him to step down.
The politicians willingly put themselves up for sale,â acting U.S. Attorney Ralph Marra said. âFor these defendants, corruption was a way of life. They existed in an ethics-free zone.â
The arrested include Secaucus Mayor Dennis Elwell, Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano, Ridgefield Mayor Anthony Suarez, state Assemblymen Peter Van Pelt and Harvey Smith, Jersey City Council President Mariano Vega, Jersey City Deputy Mayor Leona Baldini, Jersey City Republicans John Guarini and Guy Catrillo, La Vern Webb-Washington, a Jersey City council candidate, Joseph Castagna, Jersey Cityâs health officer, and Michael Manzo, a long-time veteran of the Jersey City fire department.
Suarez was charged with agreeing to accept a $10,000 corrupt cash payment for his legal defense fund, the Bergen Record reported.
Elwell was charged with taking a $10,000 cash bribe.
Cammarano was charged with accepting $25,000 in cash bribes from an undercover cooperating witness.
Van Pelt is accused of accepting $10,000 from a cooperating government witness posing as a developer who sought help in getting permits for a project in Ocean County.
According to the U.S. Attorneyâs Office, the investigation initially focused, with the help of the cooperating witness, on the money laundering network that operated between Brooklyn, Deal, N.J. and Israel. The network is alleged to have laundered tens of millions of dollars through charities controlled by rabbis in New York and New Jersey.
The investigation widened to include official corruption in July 2007 when the cooperating witness approached public officials in Hudson County posing as a developer seeking to build in the Jersey City area.
The Wall Street Journal identified the developer as Solomon Dwek, an Orthodox Jewish man who was arrested on bank-fraud charges in 2006.
He owned some 300 residential and commercial properties but was forced to file for bankruptcy.
Cammarano, the Hoboken mayor, allegedly met with a developer who became an undercover informant after being charged with bank fraud, the Star-Ledger reported. The man apparently was Dwek.
The developer wanted to build in Hoboken and in April met with with Cammarano, a mayoral candidate at the time, and Michael Schaffer, a North Hudson Utilities Authority commissioner. He asked for help getting building approvals.
The âdeveloperâ told Cammarano he would give Schaffer $10,000.
âJust make sure you expedite my stuff. Thatâs all I ask,â the informant allegedly said, the Star-Ledger reported.
The rabbis arrest in the Syrian Jewish areas of Deal and Brooklyn were charged with laundering $3 million through non-profit organizations, the Star-Ledger reported.
Part of the $3 million allegedly came from sales of kidneys by Isaac Rosenbaum, of Brooklyn. He was accused of selling kidneys for transplants for $160,000 each, the Bergen Record reported.
Rosenbaum at one point allegedly bragged heâd made âquite a lotâ of matches for kidneys.
