Thank you, Bakers!
People need to be more specific and accurate when describing these behaviors so that massive crimes are not just dismissed or swept aside in public opinion. I think it is really important to be super clear about the distinction between PEDOPHILES and people who are interested in teens/minors who have gone through puberty and have physically adult bodies. Both scenarios are crimes, and should not be tolerated by moral and decent people, but the crime of being with (and possibly being seduced and tricked by) a promiscuous 17 year old is radically different than raping a 3 year old. A 17 year old could conceivably be mistaken for a legal adult depending on the circumstance. Calling someone who got caught with an older teen a pedophile is extremely misleading and undermines the perception of pedophilia which should be horrific. If people are repetitively taught that pedophilia includes older teens, many will dismiss reports of crimes, especially if they don't want to think negatively about a political or public figure they admire. Calling out both types of crimes is important and necessary, but it is extremely important to be very accurate so as not to water down what pedophilia actually is.
People who seduce minors of any age should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. People who exploit minors (human trafficking) should get life in prison with no possibility of parole.
People who assault a pre-pubescent child should be immediately dispatched. The parents should be given the option to oversee the execution.
