A Sea of Red and White: As Much as 200K in Warsaw Demand Release of Polish Political Prisoners – President Duda Vows to Pardon the 2 MPs AGAIN

Tens of thousands of Polish citizens have taken to the streets of capital Warsaw to demand the release of the two ‘political prisoners’ held illegally by Globalist Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

The dramatic arrest of the two MPs – former Home Affairs Minister Mariusz Kamiński and his deputy Maciej Wąsik – inside the Presidential Palace, have set fire to the tense political situation in the Eastern European country.

Both men had already been pardoned by President Andrej Duda.

Kaminski has begun a HUNGER STRIKE, and the considerable portion of the population that supports the nationalist PiS party – the most voted in the last election – is showing in no uncertain terms just how dangerous is the game played by former European Commission President, PM Tusk.

MSM has a clear pro-Tusk bias, but could not fail to report such a massive movement. Reuters underplays the number of people describing it as ‘thousands of opposition supporters’, but later in the piece describes how ‘a sea of red and white Polish flags stretched back from the parliament’. That sounds like tens of thousands, maybe more. Organizers estimate as much as 200k protesters.

The demonstration also denounced the attempted takeover of state media by Tusk – a move partially blocked by a Polish court.

Reuters reported:

“The march reflects mounting tensions in the country as the new pro-European Union coalition government led by Donald Tusk tries to undo the policies of the previous nationalist Law and Justice (PiS) party administration.

It also came as President Andrzej Duda, a PiS ally, said on Thursday he had started proceedings to pardon the two ministers in the last government who were jailed this week for abuse of power, escalating his stand-off with the new government. ‘We have to win this great battle for a sovereign, independent Poland’, PiS leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski told the crowd.”

The march culminated in front of the offices of state TV. News channel TVP Info was taken off air before returning in a much altered format.

“The announcement by Duda that he would pardon the two ex-ministers was the latest twist in a saga that has left the country in political turmoil since power passed to Tusk’s coalition after October’s election.”

Hmmm sketchy sauce it's Iran

Iran Hijacks Oil Tanker In Gulf Of Oman

"Unauthorized boarders are reported to be wearing military-style black…"

Iranian naval forces, acting under a court order, seized Marshall Islands-flagged tanker "St Nikolas," Bloomberg reports, citing Iran's semi-official Tasnim agency reports. The report said St Nikolas is a "US oil tanker."

Turkish Petroleum Refineries Corp. chartered the tanker, which was transporting 140,00 tons of Iraqi SOMO crude. The vessel was en route to Aliaga in western Turkey.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) authority reported hours ago a vessel was boarded by "4-5 armed unauthorized persons" about 50 miles east of Sohar, Oman.

"Unauthorized boarders are reported to be wearing military-style black uniforms with black masks. CSO reports that the vessel has altered its course towards Iranian territorial waters, and communications with the vessel have been lost," UKMTO said.

US-Led Coalition Authorizes Joint Military Strikes Against Houthis

Update(1730ET): It begins… and a White House statement is also expected imminently:

UK’S SUNAK AUTHORIZES JOINT MILITARY STRIKES AGAINST HOUTHIS

Update(1710ET): The administration is expected to imminently launch airstrikes against Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis following the repeat attacks on both commercial shipping and US and coalition warships in the Red Sea.

Breaking reports say strikes are expected "shortly" - however, there's been some confusion and contradictory statements over whether President Biden will given an address. Choreographed statements are expected from the UK and other international allies as well.

Yemeni military sources have warned that "Any attack carried out by the UK on Yemen, will be met with harsh & "painful strikes on all British bases, battleships, ships and navigation" a threat that's been extended to the US as well.

Pentagon Responds To Claims Taylor Swift Is 'Front For Covert Political Agenda'

The Pentagon on Wednesday responded to reports that singer Taylor Swift may be a “front for a covert political agenda” on behalf of the Biden administration.

Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh denied the claims in a tongue-in-cheek statement to Politico.

“As for this conspiracy theory, we are going to shake it off,” she said, referencing one of Ms. Swift’s songs, titled “Shake It Off.”

“But that does highlight that we still need Congress to approve our supplemental budget request as Swift-ly as possible so we can be out of the woods with potential fiscal concerns,” she continued, adding more references to Ms. Swift’s musical catalog.

The statement from the Department of Defense followed comments made by Fox News host Jesse Watters on Tuesday night.

Mr. Watters, during his show Jesse Watters Primetime, questioned how Ms. Swift had soared in popularity over the years, noting that her sold-out “The Eras Tour” has an economic impact greater than the GDP of 50 Countries.

“Around four years ago, the Pentagon’s psychological operations unit floated turning Taylor Swift into an asset during a NATO meeting,” he said. “What kind of asset? A psyop for combating online misinformation.”

The Fox News host then cut to a clip from a 2019 conference on misinformation titled “Information Warfare: defining and analyzing” at the 11th International Conference on Cyber Conflict in Tallinn, Estonia.

During the conference, data engineer Alicia Marie Bargar spoke of how famous people can be used to help share information or a particular message.

Screams without proof: questions for NYT about shoddy ‘Hamas mass rape’ report

After dismantling a New York Times front page feature alleging “a broader pattern of gender-based violence on Oct. 7” by Hamas, The Grayzone is demanding answers of the paper for its journalistic malpractice.

The following was submitted to New York Times editors and lead author, Jeffrey Gettleman.

The Grayzone has identified serious issues with the credibility of key sources quoted in the New York Times’ December 28 story, “Screams Without Words: How Hamas Weaponized Sexual Violence on October 7.” Authored by Jeffrey Gettleman, Anat Schwartz, and Adam Sella, the article purports to prove “a broader pattern of gender-based violence on Oct. 7” than even Israeli authorities have been willing to allege . However, the Times report is marred by sensationalism, wild leaps of logic, and an absence of concrete evidence to support its sweeping conclusion.

The Times has come under fire from family members of Gal Abdush, the so-called “girl in the black dress” who features as Exhibit A in Gettleman and company’s attempt to demonstrate a pattern of rape by Hamas on October 7. Not only have Abdush’s sister and brother-in-law each denied that she was raped, the former has accused the Times of manipulating her family into participating by misleading them about their editorial angle. Though the family’s comments have sparked a major uproar on social media, the Times has yet to address the serious breach of journalistic integrity that its staff is accused of committing.

The Israeli police have also issued a statement since the publication of the Times’ article asserting that they themselves are unable to locate eyewitnesses of rape on October 7, or to connect the testimonies published by outlets like the Times with anything remotely resembling evidence.

We call on the New York Times to publicly address the comments by the Abdush family accusing Times reporters of misleading them and lying about the circumstances of her death. The Times must also address the statement issued by Israel’s police subsequent to the article’s publication and explain why Gettleman and his co-authors apparently omitted it.

Further, we demand a response to our thoroughly sourced debunking of testimony by key witnesses quoted in the story, as well as the documented record of discredited claims and ethically dubious activity by those same witnesses.

We have provided several questions for your consideration. If you are unable to furnish responses which satisfactorily address the issues we have raised about the credibility of your article, we believe it must be retracted in full.

French PM names gay partner foreign minister

Media coverage has soft-pedaled Stephane Sejourne’s relationship with France’s youngest-ever PM Gabriel Attal

French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal appointed his husband Stephane Sejourne as foreign minister on Thursday, just days after he himself became the first gay man to hold his role.

Sejourne, who also leads President Emmanuel Macron’s Renaissance political party and the Renew group in the European Parliament, replaces Catherine Colonna amid the cabinet reshuffle that followed former prime minister Elisabeth Borne’s resignation on Monday.

The 38-year-old has advised Macron since the latter was Minister of the Economy and Finance, having joined his team in 2014 and remained with him through his election to President in 2017.

Macron appointed Attal to replace Borne on Tuesday, making him France’s youngest-ever prime minister as well as its first gay one. He had previously served as Minister of Education. Attal spent 10 months as spokesperson for Macron’s party, then called La Republique en Marche, in 2018, having left the Socialist Party two years earlier to back the then-candidate in his run for president.

Attal and Sejourne made their relationship official with a civil union in 2017 and took it public the following year, when Attal came out as gay. In October, Attal claimed in an official declaration on conflicts of interest to the High Authority for Transparency in Public Life that he had no partner, though the pair had never publicly broken up.

Most media coverage of the appointment studiously avoided mentioning Sejourne's civil union with Attal.

Other additions to Macron’s cabinet include former Justice Minister Rachida Dati as Culture Minister. A former MEP from the conservative Les Republicains party, she has been under formal investigation for corruption since 2021, though she has denied wrongdoing. Dati is accused of having received €900,000 for lobbying the European Parliament from carmaker Renault over a three-year period while still serving as an MEP.

Borne’s letter of resignation suggested she did not step down of her own volition, referencing Macron’s “will” to “appoint a new prime minister,” according to the Associated Press. Her departure came weeks after Macron passed a controversial immigration bill strengthening the government’s ability to deport foreigners. Having lost its majority in parliament last year, Macron's centrist party was forced to ally with Les Republicains to pass the measure, a move that shifted public opinion even further against a government already wildly unpopular after last year’s pension reform raised the retirement age in a manner considered undemocratic by the majority of French voters, triggering weeks of protests.

Thursday's cabinet reshuffle has been widely reported as an effort by the president to salvage his government's diminishing credibility. While he is constitutionally prohibited from running for a third term in 2027, European Parliament elections are scheduled for this year, and Renaissance is expected to lose several seats unless public opinion shifts favorably towards it.

Hunter Biden pleads not guilty to federal tax charges

If convicted, Biden faces17years in prison.

First son Hunter Biden on Thursday pleaded not guilty to federal tax charges brought by special counsel David Weiss, CNN reported.

Biden entered the plea during his arraignment at a Los Angeles courthouse on nine felony and misdemeanor tax charges that Weiss filed in December, described an alleged "four-year scheme to not pay at least $1.4 million in self-assessed federal taxes he owed for tax years 2016 through 2019."

The charges followed a botched plea agreement that would have ended the years-long federal investigation and case against Hunter. Judge Maryellen Noreika raised constitutional concerns about the deal in light of its link to a pre-trial diversion agreement involving a firearms charge.

Prior to the deal's collapse, IRS agents Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler came forward with allegations that Biden-appointed officials had intervened to stifle the probe and prevent the bringing of more severe charges against the first son. Attorney General Merrick Garland named Weiss special counsel to continue the case after the plea agreement fell apart.
