US journalist jailed and 'tortured' by Ukraine has died – family

Gonzalo Lira’s relatives have blamed his death on Washington and Kiev

Chilean-American blogger Gonzalo Lira has died in a Ukrainian prison, his family said on Friday.

“I cannot accept the way my son has died. He was tortured, extorted, incommunicado for 8 months and 11 days and the US Embassy did nothing to help my son. The responsibility of this tragedy is the dictator Zelensky with the concurrence of a senile American President, Joe Biden,” his father Gonzalo Lira Sr. wrote in a note published by The Grayzone.

Lira Senior also reached out to X host Tucker Carlson, confirming the death of his son in Ukrainian custody. He had spoken to Carlson about the case in early December.

His son Lira, 55, used to live in Kharkov and blog as ‘CoachRedPill,’ but switched to YouTube commentary after the conflict with Russia escalated in February 2022. He was arrested by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) last May and accused of “discrediting” the Ukrainian leadership and the military.

Lira resurfaced in late July with a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), revealing his torture in jail and attempts of the SBU to extort him for money. He said he was trying to flee to Hungary and seek asylum. Then he disappeared again.

Two days later, a source confirmed to RT that Lira had been caught and imprisoned by Ukrainian authorities. He has not been heard from since.

According to a handwritten note Lira’s sister received on January 4, he had severe health problems caused by pneumonia and a collapsed lung, which began in mid-October. The prison authorities only acknowledged the issue on December 22, and he was supposed to undergo surgery. The note was provided to The Grayzone by Lira Senior.

Johns Hopkins Medicine’s Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Health Equity (DEI) recently sparked outrage over a discriminatory “privilege list” ahead of MLK Day, which claims that nine “social identity groups” are the benefactors of “unearned benefits.”

Condemning whites, Christians, males, cis-gendered straight people, the able-bodied, middle class and property owners, the middle-aged, and English speakers, the newsletter reads, “Privilege is a set of unearned benefits given to people who are in a specific social group. Privilege operates on personal, interpersonal, cultural, and institutional levels, and it provides advantages and favors to members of dominant groups at the expense of members of other groups. In the United States, privilege is granted to people who have membership in one or more of these social identity groups.”

The letter continues, “Privilege is characteristically invisible to people who have it. People in dominant groups often believe they have earned the privileges they enjoy or that everyone could have access to these privileges if only they worked to earn them. In fact, privileges are unearned and are granted to people in the dominant groups whether they want those privileges or not, and regardless of their stated intent.”

Martin Luther King Jr. seemingly did not foresee this in his dream that all Americans “will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” Still, the university included this “social identities” judgment in their MLK Day celebration announcement.

This is coupled with the fact that the globalists and Marxists are forcing whites and other targeted groups into the minority, as has happened in California and now Texas, and replacing our national identity by flooding the open border with millions of non-English speaking illegal aliens — many of whom are military-aged men from adversarial or terrorist countries who did not come here to contribute to society.

The @EndWokeness X account released an unearthed newsletter from Chief Diversity Officer Dr. Sherita H. Golden on the January 2024 issue of Monthly Diversity Digest. The message included “privilege” as the “Diversity Word of the Month” along with a series of descriptions considered “privileged.”

After the message went viral, Golden sent out a new statement on Thursday retracting the newsletter and claimed it was not intended to offend anyone.

“The newsletter included a definition of the word ‘privilege’ which, upon reflection, I deeply regret. The intent of the newsletter is to inform and support an inclusive community at Hopkins, but the language of this definition clearly did not meet that goal. In fact, because it was overly simplistic and poorly worded, it had the opposite effect of being exclusionary and hurtful to members of our community,” Golden wrote.

“I retract and disavow the definition I shared, and I am sorry. I will ensure that future messages reflect our organizational values.”

At least she apologized and clarified her intent. Of course, the rules of cancel culture are different when it comes to all of the groups targeted by her newsletter.

FBI Defies Court Order – Refuses to Turn Over Seth Rich Evidence to Attorney

Attorney Ty Clevenger is the bulldog attorney who has been after the DOJ and FBI for years to get to the bottom of the Seth Rich murder.

Clevenger also investigated who supplied the DNC and Podesta emails to the DNC during the 2016 election cycle This was always the key to the Trump-Russia collusion nightmare. No proof was ever offered up by the fake news legacy media, Democrats, or the intelligence community on this scandal. If Russia did not supply the DNC emails to WikiLeaks then this was more proof that the DOJ’s Russia collusion story was a complete lie used to fool the American public.

After years of denying they had anything related to Seth Rich, the FBI and DOJ were caught lying over and over again. In September 2023, a judge finally demanded the FBI and DOJ provide all they had regarding Seth Rich to Attorney Clevenger. The FBI responded requesting another 66 years before releasing the information. They wanted it moved out like the JFK assassination reports.

Then in late November, a Federal Judge ruled the FBI must hand over evidence regarding former DNC employee Seth Rich’s murder to Ty Clevenger.

This is big news since one year earlier the FBI was attempting to bury the information on Seth Rich for 66 years.

No media outlet has covered the Seth Rich story as extensively as The Gateway Pundit.

Judge Amos L. Mazzant ruled the FBI must hand over Rich’s personal laptop, work laptop, a DVD, and thumb drive within 14 days.

It’s now been over 40 days since this ruling came down and the lawless Chris Wray FBI has defied the court order.

Fresh Attack On US Base At Syrian Oilfield After Coalition Bombs Yemen: Reports

Emerging reports in Iranian state media and from Iraqi and Russian sources have indicated the US base at Syria's Conoco oilfield in northeast Syria has come under fresh attack on Friday.

Additionally Sputnik’s regional correspondent has cited a series of violent explosions at the US outpost. The statement, though unconfirmed in other international sources, said the "American air defenses tried to confront the missile attack with their ground and air anti-aircraft weapons, to no avail… the American occupation army’s air force and helicopters, in the meantime, began flying over the skies of the towns surrounding its bases."

Iranian state IRNA said "the US military base has come under attacks by the Iraqi resistance groups in response to the Washington-backed Israeli war crimes in Gaza Strip" on Friday.

Overnight, the US and UK launched a major assault on Iran-linked Houthis in Yemen, related to the Red Sea shipping crisis, and American bases in the regions are now bracing for a response from Tehran-backed militants.

Beirut-based media outlet The Cradle says that although Iraqi militia sources have yet to confirm the new operation targeting Conoco, "The attack comes just days after US forces carried out live drills near the Conoco base, aimed at training for potential attacks on the facility."

There are other significant rumors that additional bases in the region could be facing hostile fire, but nothing has been verified from the Pentagon or US Central Command at this early stage.

But what has been confirmed is the recent soaring number of attacks, according Military Times:

U.S. troops deployed to Iraq and Syria have come under attack from Iran-backed militias 130 times since Oct. 17 as of Thursday, according to the Pentagon, totaling 53 attacks in Iraq and 77 in Syria.

The drone, rocket, mortar and missile attacks have injured 69 U.S. troops, but a Pentagon spokesman said Thursday that no troops have been injured since Dec. 25.

"When it comes to U.S. forces in the region, again, we’re there for one reason and one reason only, which is the enduring defeat of ISIS,” Air Force Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder said in a fresh briefing. "And so we will continue to call on these Iranian proxies to cease these attacks, but we won’t hesitate, as we’ve demonstrated in the past, to take appropriate action to protect our forces should we need to do that."
