Hunter Biden reverses course, agrees to sit for deposition in father's impeachment inquiry
In a dramatic about-face, Hunter Biden's lawyers told Congress on Friday that the first son will agree to sit for a deposition or public hearing in his father's impeachment inquiry.
Attorney Abbe Lowell informed House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan of his client's decision, but asked that a new subpoena be issued since Congress formally approved an impeachment inquiry since Hunter Biden was first asked to be interviewed.
"If you issue a new proper subpoena, now that there is a duly authorized impeachment inquiry, Mr. Biden will comply for a hearing or deposition," Lowell wrote. "We will accept such a subpoena on Mr. Biden’s behalf."

Last week, House Republicans under Comer’s leadership moved to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress over his failure to appear for a closed-door deposition under subpoena from the committees.

I think he had contention w/ the fact of being public vs closed door. And not being presented a choice, based most likely on sensitive maters.
Most proceedings don't give choice, it has to be applied for or motioned.
FBI Defies Court Order – Refuses to Turn Over Seth Rich Evidence to Attorney
Attorney Ty Clevenger is the bulldog attorney who has been after the DOJ and FBI for years to get to the bottom of the Seth Rich murder.
Clevenger also investigated who supplied the DNC and Podesta emails to the DNC during the 2016 election cycle This was always the key to the Trump-Russia collusion nightmare. No proof was ever offered up by the fake news legacy media, Democrats, or the intelligence community on this scandal. If Russia did not supply the DNC emails to WikiLeaks then this was more proof that the DOJ’s Russia collusion story was a complete lie used to fool the American public.
After years of denying they had anything related to Seth Rich, the FBI and DOJ were caught lying over and over again. In September 2023, a judge finally demanded the FBI and DOJ provide all they had regarding Seth Rich to Attorney Clevenger. The FBI responded requesting another 66 years before releasing the information. They wanted it moved out like the JFK assassination reports.
Then in late November, a Federal Judge ruled the FBI must hand over evidence regarding former DNC employee Seth Rich’s murder to Ty Clevenger.

Free state park passes at libraries and for fourth graders will end this year if Gov. Gavin Newsom's proposed budget cuts stand.
Popular California State Parks programs on chopping block amid state budget woes
California’s budget woes could kill two popular programs that help the public access state parks and beaches for free, after Gov. Gavin Newsom failed to include money for the projects in his latest proposed budget.
First on the chopping block is the California State Park Adventure Pass, which gives fourth graders and their families a free annual pass to dozens of state parks. If lawmakers or Newsom don’t find a way to add funding for that program into the state budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year before the final plan is approved this June, Rachel Norton, executive director of California State Parks Foundation, said those passes won’t be available for kids who’ll start fourth grade this fall.
Also missing from the governor’s draft plan for the coming year is money for the California State Library Parks Pass. Under that program, all Californians can use a library card to check out passes so they can avoid the typical $10 or $15 charge per vehicle to visit more than 200 California state parks and beaches. Since those passes are issued for the calendar year, Norton said the 2024 passes now in more than 1,100 public libraries throughout the state will be good through Dec. 31. But if lawmakers don’t budget new funds, she said libraries won’t get any passes for the public to check out in 2025.
