Natalie Winters at The War Room broke the news today that Republican Party members were meeting with Chinese Communist Party officials to plan strategy and discuss the direction of US-China policy.

Winters provided the 2017 brochure from the 10th US-China high level political party leaders meetings.

Republican National Committee Chairmen and Treasurers have met with officials from the Chinese Communist Party and its vast network of foreign influence groups to discuss “campaign strategies” and the direction of U.S.-China relations for over a decade, War Room can reveal.

Among the newly revealed participants is Treasurer Anthony Duncan, who held the influential position under the tenure of Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel while attending the Beijing-based event in 2017.

Evidenced through a decades-long trove of documents, War Room can reveal the identities of several RNC Chairmen and Treasurers who participated in several versions of an annual event – the U.S.-China High-Level Political Party Leaders Dialogue – alongside members of the Chinese Communist Party. Secret German MoD Document Lays Out Path To World War III

The Germany military is preparing for a potential attack by Russia in February which culminates in a wider war after the U.S. presidential election.

German newspaper Bild reports on the details of a hitherto classified Berlin Ministry of Defense document called Alliance Defence 2025 with alarming implications.

The secret strategy document wargames a hybrid Russian attack on NATO’s eastern flank as soon as next month and then lays out the steps on how the conflict would escalate month by month.

The scenario culminates in the deployment of hundreds of thousands of NATO troops and the onset of what amounts to World War III by the summer of 2025.

Pravda summarizes the schedule of the scenario.

Russia’s at first covert and then increasingly overt attack on the West begins in July. Cyber attacks and other forms of hybrid warfare are anticipated, primarily in the Baltic states. Clashes occur, which Russia uses as an excuse to initiate large-scale military exercises on its territory and in Belarus.

According to the scenario, this situation could escalate in October if Russia deploys troops and medium-range missiles to Kaliningrad. From December 2024, an artificially induced “border conflict” and “clashes with numerous casualties” unfold in the vicinity of the Suwalki Gap (Suwalki Corridor).

At a moment when the United States may be without a leader for several weeks after the elections, Russia, with the support of Belarus, repeats the 2014 invasion of Ukraine but on NATO territory. In May 2025, NATO decides on containment measures, and on D-Day, NATO deploys 300,000 military personnel to the eastern flank, including 30,000 soldiers from the Bundeswehr.

The document is officially called a “training scenario,” although that will do little to allay fears that NATO could face a confrontation with Russia as it looks increasingly likely Ukraine will lose the war.

The Germany Ministry of Defense refused to comment on details of the document, but said it was “taking into consideration all scenarios, including extremely unlikely ones, is part of daily military activity, especially in training.”

As we highlighted last week, Sweden is also cautioning its citizens to prepare for war with Russia, saying the country is ill-prepared to cope with the sudden onset of hostilities.

Houthi Missile Hits US-Owned Cargo Ship in the Red Sea

The Houthis were previously not targeting American commercial shipping but that's changed since the US bombed Yemen

US Central Command said Monday that a Houthi anti-ship ballistic missile hit a US-owned cargo ship in the Red Sea, an escalation that came a few days after the US and Britain bombed dozens of Houthi targets in Yemen.

The missile struck the Gibraltar Eagle, a Marshall Islands-flagged ship that’s owned by the US-based Eagle Bulk Shipping. CENTCOM said there were no casualties or damage reported.

Eagle Bulk said there was “limited damage” but that the ship was able to leave the area. “As a result of the impact, the vessel suffered limited damage to a cargo hold but is stable and is heading out of the area,” the company said.

Before Monday, the Houthis had not targeted US commercial shipping and said their attacks were limited to Israel-linked vessels. But that changed after the US and UK escalated the situation by bombing Yemen on Friday. After the strikes, a Houthi spokesman said that “all American-British interests have become legitimate targets.”

The Houthis, officially known as Ansar Allah, have made clear their attacks on Israel-linked shipping wouldn’t stop until the Israeli onslaught in Gaza ends. Instead of pressuring Israel to end the slaughter, President Biden opted for regional escalation. US officials acknowledged that the bombing did not harm the Houthis’ ability to launch offensive attacks in the Red Sea.

The US and British airstrikes risk shattering the fragile truce between the US-backed Saudi-led coalition in Yemen and the Houthis, although Saudi Arabia has distanced itself from the anti-Houthi operations and is urging the US to show restraint.

The US-backed war on the Houthis killed 377,000 people between 2015 and 2022, according to the UN. More than half died of starvation and disease caused by the brutal siege, which involved a major bombing campaign and a blockade on Houthi-controlled Yemen, where about 70%-80% of Yemenis live.

Al-Mandalawi called on the Iraqi government to put the resolution into action and to expand the capacities of the Iraqi security forces.

Civilian Contractor Allegedly Stole $100M From US Military Families

A US Army civilian contractor is accused of stealing more than $100 million meant to be spent on children of military families. Instead, it is assumed that the money were spent to buy cars and properties.

Janet Yamanaka Mello, 57, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to 10 counts related to her alleged fraud scheme, including mail fraud, criminal handling of money and aggravated identity theft. Mello faces a total of 142 years in prison.

According to the authorities, Mello’s scheme went unnoticed for seven years. Part of her role at Fort Sam Houston included determining funding for a grant program meant to supplement civilian partners. In 2016, she formed a shell non-profit company called Child Health and Youth Lifelong Development (CHYLD) and appropriated funds to the company more than 40 times over the past six years.

But allegedly the company did not provide any services and instead gave more than $100 million to herself. Mello largely used the relationships she built up with co-workers and her supervisors but also forged one of her supervisors’ signatures several times to approve some of the transactions, according to media report.

According to the indictment, Mello used her ill-gotten gains to purchase luxury jewelry, 78 vehicles including new and classic cars and motorcycles and 31 properties across several states.

One property in Preston, Maryland, a little more than an hour outside of Washington DC sat on a 58-acre lot and included an infinity pool, three garages capable of holding 55 cars, and 16 bathrooms. According to real estate site Zillow, it sold for $3.1 million in August.

Most of the properties, which also included sites in Texas, New Mexico and Washington State, were valued at more than $1 million.

The fleet of vehicles included a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS, a 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, a 1966 Ford Mustang and a 1954 Chevrolet Corvette, among others.

The properties and vehicles are being sized by the government.

Mello also had more than $18 million spread across six bank accounts. If she does not make a deal with prosecutors by January 19, she will face a jury trial and selection, according to court documents.

A deeply religious fringe group within the Chabad believes Rabbi Schneerson is the Jewish Messiah – an idea the mainstream movement rejects. That disagreement is reportedly an element in the tunnel altercation.

The building has been closed as inspection of the tunnels has continued.

Police remove a black and yellow suitcase from a home

Police say detectives are in Broome as part of an ongoing investigation into historic child sex offences.

Child abuse detectives have searched a house owned by the Catholic Church in WA's north amidst a long-running investigation into sexual assault allegations.

Two police cars and five unmarked police vehicles were parked at the property in suburban Broome on Monday.

The ABC understands the Piggott Way address is where Broome's former Catholic Bishop Christopher Saunders lived up until late last year.

The bishop made international headlines last year after an independent report commissioned by the Vatican described him as a sexual predator.

Bishop Saunders has denied any wrongdoing.

On Monday afternoon, officers blocked the two entry gates and have taken storage containers into the property, which is bordered by a brick wall and mango trees.

Western Australian police would not be drawn on why the officers were at the home.

"Child Abuse Squad detectives are in Broome as part of an ongoing investigation into historic child sex offences," a spokesperson said in a statement.

One neighbour who wished to remain anonymous said the house had been empty since last year.

"We just found all the cars here — the detectives — all raiding the house, so we were curious about what's going on," she said.

"[Mr Saunders] keeps it very low key."

The woman said locals would likely be rocked by the news of the search.

An investigation into the Bishop commenced in early 2020 with allegations of sexual misconduct levelled against the cleric.

Police spent more than a year investigating, but closed the file in May 2021 without laying charges.

The Bishop resigned his position after that, but remained in the Kimberley town until recently after the case again made headlines with the leaking of the independent Vatican inquiry.
