I don’t think so. I think you’re interpreting Christianity from an outsider position. The position that thinks Christians should all be like Amish and let you kill them and forgive.
That’s not the majority of modern Christians nor the old fashioned ones.
Do you picture Christians as strumming guitars and singing Kumbaya in the small non denominational ‘churches which’ have no affiliation? Started by s preacher named Tom with his last $500 and meeting in old movie theaters?

It’s only recently that capital punishment has become unflavored and that push was from the liberal left and sociologists.
Christian conservatives traditionally never had a problem with ‘render unto Caesar’ and seeing Gods justice worked through jurisprudence.
They will quote Jesus about millstones when it comes to pedophilia.
It’s also only recently that America has become less Christian and that directly correlates to the moving away from capital punishment.
Christians always were and are the conservatives. Still are. Conservatives don’t mind the death penalty- that’s God seeing justice done on earth.
There are not going to be enough millstones to satisfy old-fashioned Christians …or modern ones.
