Happened to us in Texas. My father a Canadian citizen had his entire estate and Canadian will adjudicated in Texas by a tribunal not even Judge in Texas. There was clear undisputed evidence of a Texas lawyer illegally rewriting his will when he became disoriented after several strokes and abused by his caregiver. Completely ignored against even Texas law. They ruled to split estate with the abuser and dissolved his Canadian will. There was also evidence the caregiver did not report medical emergency for nine hours and caused his death. We paid shit load of taxes to US government, why, I have no idea.
