Claiming two candidates are essentially tied is a common tactic so they can easily place their favored person in the lead.
John Kirby [White House press conference]: We took additional strikes, knocking out four ballistic missiles that we believe were prepped and ready to be launched from Yemen; took 'em out before they could do that.
Kirby: Most of the attacks [by Houthis] are knocked out of the sky before they can get to the target, and a good many of the missile and drone attacks have simply missed, particularly the ballistic missiles, just fallen harmlessly into the water without hitting a ship.
Kirby: I don't have an update for you on the search efforts for those two Navy sailors that are in the water. As I understand it…that search is ongoing.
Reporter: Does the federal government control the southern border, or does the state of Texas?
Jean-Pierre: What Governor Abbott continues to do..what he's doing at the border, his policies, how he's getting involved; it's extreme. It's extreme political stunt…it demonizes and dehumanizes people. It also makes the job of the Border Patrol harder, and it also is more dangerous…right now, Texas officials are preventing Border Patrol Agents from doing their job in that particular area by the border, so that is a problem.
