Pre-covid they used to open their doors to homeless people.

But the government was micro-managing their efforts regarding bedding and food.

So people were volunteering their own time, and their own money, and the gov't was still interfering.

Last I heard, the churches gave up on providing for the homeless because of all of the covid rules.

Oh well.

So if a person was to open their home to a border crosser, migrant, illegal alien, homeless person, or whatever the buzz word of the day is, would the government intervene and dictate to people what the sleeping arrangements would have to be and what kind of food is provided?

The government just can't keep their fingers out of people's business, even when the business is charity.

In Illinois, if you allow a person to live with you, you are not allowed to kick them out. You are not allowed to make them a homeless person.

My sis-in-law learned this first hand when she took in a friend. That "friend" turned out to be an evil, manipulative, bitch. When my sis-in-law tried to kick her out, she wouldn't leave, so sis-in-law called the police. The police told sis-in-law that per Illinois law she was not allowed to kick the evil bitch out of her own home.

We had to get creative and made the evil bitch decide to leave on her own.
